Everything was planned perfectly!! We went 2 years in a row with a large group of friends, and are so disappointed they haven't had it since. We've done the Ritz, St. Regis, several NYE parties in So OC and this OC block party was truly the best. The cover bands were the excellent, the food was great, the bars weren't too crowded. We wish so badly they would have it again.
My girlfriend and I had a BLAST!!! We bought the VIP tickets which were ok. I was hoping to get more perks with it. General admission is good enough for this event. I would totally do this again. The Queen cover band was amazing and I also really enjoyed the Led Zep band. The confetti and fireworks at midnight were cool. We didn't gamble at the tables at all, but they looked like fun. The DJ was ok. I wish he played more hip hop. I thought it was a WONDERFUL idea to let people leave their cars in the parking lot in case they were too drunk to drive home afterwards. The discount At the Marriott looked like a GREAT deal. We did not take advantage of it this time. I wish the food trucks had more than French fries for vegatarian options.
The tribute bands were fair, and they scheduled most of the ones we wanted to see at the same time. Three of the music rooms were right next to each other, and with doors between them, a lot of the noise was spilling over from the next room. The food was mostly a bunch of lunch trucks charging o.c. fair prices. The fireworks were tame. It is a mostly outside event and you had to be bundled up 'cause it was freeeezing!
Great variety of cover bands, food and entertainment. Well worth it!
I stopped going out on New Year's Eve a few years back, so it was refreshing to find something new to do. The night was a combination of the fair plus the tribute bands I like to see, so the ticket was worth the money! There were rides, gourmet food trucks, and fireworks to ring in the new year, which was fun. The fairgrounds also allowed you to leave your car overnight, or you could catch a cab if you had a little too much holiday cheer. I was glad the 4 stages (60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s) were close to each other, which made it easier to see the bands you like. I was at the 60s and 80s stages. Thanks to the Atomic Punks, Abbey Road, and Strangelove for making the evening even more memorable. I was glad to get a chance to talk to them before the shows too. Thanks OC Fair for having an awesome event so close to home!
lots of things to do! my husband and i both had fun and the food and drinks were great. everyone was nice and also having fun. friendly environment.
I loved that all the stages were nearby. It was fun going from one to the other. Definitely well planned. I liked all the tribute bands, and hope to be able to attend next year's!
I loved every bit of it! The food was delicious, drinks top notch and every band I heard was top notch! Good choices! Looking forward to ringing in 2014 with everyone!!!!
This was a great event with something for everyone. The bands were good and the food was amazing. Only negative feedback was the taxi line was crazy at the end of the night.
My husband and I had such a great time! The Demolition Derby was way more fun than I expected and the cover bands were very entertaining. we stopped off at a food truck and had the best (and only) feta garlic fries I've had! I would definitely consider attending this event next year! You can't beat the price for a New Years Eve event!
