5th Ann. New Years Comedy Blast - Not such a blast

by LuvsComedy on 1/15/13The Palace Theatre Albany - Albany

The first and second act (Pauly Casillas and Halli Borgfjord) were good. The show started off great. The third act (Travon Free)was lame. The comic didn’t seem prepared, he even mentioned it in is routine but I thought he was kidding (of course). He also seemed intoxicated. His “jokes” took too long to get to the punch line. I found myself daydreaming and wondering why I paid so much for the tickets. The fourth act (Eli Braden)sang his whole skit, which I didn’t know he was going to do. It started out ok but some where it went terribly wrong. He got extremely raunchy, tons of people left early. It’s ironic because the last two comics were the ones with “credentials” and were my least favorite. I would give this show another try, but I’ll check out the reviews before I spend any money.

Disappointed in New Year's Eve Show

by Metts on 1/8/13The Palace Theatre Albany - Albany

My husband and I were expecting a good show with the "headliners" lined up for show. Turns out the first two comedians we thought were the warm-up to the big guns were the funniest! The last 2 were funny on occasion, but we expected better. The last person started off with 2 funny songs, but then it got old quick and he was never able to make the switch, then he was getting nervous because the crowd was not responding and began to heckle. I actually felt uncomfortable towards the end of the show. He was asking "how much time do I have left?" - Really?? Not very professional! Maybe they are better writers than comedians?? Needless to say we have been telling all our friends that the show was disappointing and will be hesitant to return for a future show. I love the Palace and have never seen a bad show there, not sure what happened with this one.

5th Annual New Year’s Eve ComedyBlast little Humor

by NamasteWithU on 1/5/13The Palace Theatre Albany - Albany

We all enjoy generic humor. We don’t like insults and put-downs. They’re not funny. The first and last comedians were terrible. Halli had some generic humor which was funny. The black comedian had some bad insults. We do not recommend the 5th Annual New Year’s Eve Comedy Blast. It was not good. After they supported gay activity they insulted and put down everything else. Most of them made comments on anal sex. Even Halli’s CD ends with it.

Is there a negative star choice?!

by hunting4comedy on 1/4/13The Palace Theater - Albany

We have been to this show before and been pleased with most if not all comedians. This year was VERY different...in a bad way! We enjoyed much of the second comedian Holli B. but the others were awful. Much of their bits were lazy comedy-offering bodily function jokes and rude and offensive material. This is not an early 20's crowd that goes to this show. This is the over 30-50+ crowd who have largely outgrown public drunkenness and semen jokes! We don't care that you used your lease to wipe after using the toilet, that you have a penis in each ear during a three way, or how hard you party while you should be earning your pay at work! We deserved a care free night out , which is what we thought we were buying. Instead we were disgusted, chose to walk out to early in search of a way to erase the horrible evening before ushering in the new year. The Palace theater has a lot to make up for in our book. Needless to say we will try the show at Proctor's next year!

    worst show i ever saw

by Adausto on 1/3/13The Palace Theatre Albany - Albany

Extremely dissapointing event. Wasn't funny and very low class. I can't believe people would sink so low to try to get a laugh. I should've walked out right away, would've felt better if I had.

    Comedy Blast was disgusting

by CJ1926 on 1/3/13The Palace Theatre Albany - Albany

4 supposed comedians, disgusting mouths. I went there to laugh, didn't laugh once. when a comedian laughs at his own jokes, and nobody else does, something is wrong. Not one of these comedians should have been up on that stage, considering the price of the ticket this was a disgusting display of inadequacy. They should get a real job and stop stealing peoples money for a show that was horrific. When we left, people were standing outside yelling to refund ticket money. Horrible, simply horrible. enough said!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Not Funny Comedy Show

by Anonymous on 1/2/13The Palace Theatre Albany - Albany

The first comedian was mildly funny. The rest were uninspired, dull and simply not funny. The last guy was raunchy without being funny. I have never seen so many people get up and leave before the end of a show. Too bad for the Palace but we will not be doing that show again next year.

This show was a complete waste of $. Comedians were not.funny and one guy was drunk.and crude and had the crowd booing him off the stage. Most people walked out in the middle of the show.
