Xfest was great for a hard rock fan

by MandaRee on 10/22/11Montgomery County Fairgrounds - Dayton

This was my first year attending XFest. The three headliners were three of my favorite current rock bands. It was so much fun but unfortunately I couldn't get too close to the bands because the entire area in front of the stage was mosh pits and crowd surfing. The festival was set up perfectly. There was enough time to get from one stage to the next, but there was not a lot of time waiting for bands to start playing which was awesome. I stayed the entire day, so it would have been nice to have cheaper drink/food somewhere. Everything was pretty expensive. All in all, it was a great music festival, and I would go again.

    Theory was AMAZING!

by Squeaky09 on 10/3/11Montgomery County Fairgrounds - Dayton

X-Fest was a good show. I wish there were more well known bands there. Also, I think it would be a good idea if there was a specific roped off region specifically for crowd surfing, even though it is prohibited. I was not able to fully enjoy the bands I paid to see because I was worried about being smashed by a person.

    Xfest was a disappointment.

by lipsofanangel on 9/26/11Montgomery County Fairgrounds - Dayton

First I had trouble finding the willcall booth to pick up my parking pass, that I had ordered from ticketmaster, I am not from around the area and this was my first time attending an Xfest event. I travelled over 8 hours to see Kopek and by the time I got to their autograph booth, someone from security told me they were not meeting anyone else, that was my first disappointment. The bands all sounded great, but the crowds were so rowdy. I sat in the accessible section with my family members who are handicapped and could not even see the stage by the time Skillet came on, because of all the rowdy crowd surfers and rude people that would stand in front of the accessible section...I don't know why a concert promoter would set up the accessible area in an area where disabled people and their companions would not be able to see, I think this is a shame.

    Skillet blew me away!!

by FashnDiva on 9/26/11Montgomery County Fairgrounds - Dayton

I am a huge (albeit recent) fan of Skillet, and their stage show was amazing. Of all the bands that I saw, they were hands-down my favorite.

For the duration of time that I was there, it was nice. Black Stone Cherry were good and Skillet was absolutely amazing. I wasn't a huge fan of Downplay or Kopek with the exception of one song. I unfortunately had to leave after Skillet so I didn't get to see the rest of the bands that I really wanted to see but a friend of mine who was there said that Staind was fantastic and so was Five Finger Death Punch.

Skillet and Stained were great, But Five Finger Death punch was the craziest forsure. I love the setup of xfest. But my overall favorite was skillet, Id love to see them again next year.

    Amazing !

by Nookiemonster on 9/22/11Montgomery County Fairgrounds - Dayton

X-Fest 2011 was a blast. Parking was easy to find, access to the fairground was quick and the bands that preformed were amazing. This was my first year at X-Fest, and it just became an annual event for me and friends.
