NEW KINGSTON IN CONCERT:
R&B reggae fusion trio New Kingston has made a name for themselves with a decidedly modern approach to Jamaica's most famous musical tradition. The group's hip hop-inspired beats, uplifting lyrics, and hook-filled choruses are equal parts fresh and nostalgic, bridging the generational divide and bringing together fans of all ages. Whether they're covering classic tracks by Bob Marley and Michael Jackson or performing originals like "Can't Give Up", New Kingston always brings an upbeat energy to the stage that keeps ticket buyers grooving till the very last note.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
New Kingston is made up of Tahir (keys), Stephen (guitar), and Courtney Jr. (drums) -- three Brooklyn-born brothers who began playing music together in their basement in 2006. Under the mentorship of their bassist father, they honed a unique reggae fusion sound that incorporated elements of R&B, hip hop, and jazz. After performing locally for several years, they made their album debut in 2010 with In The Streets, an ambitious release that perfectly synthesized their diverse influences. Homegrown success soon turned to nationwide buzz, and before long they were touring with reggae icons like Matisyahu and Rebelution. Their 2013 sophomore album Kingston University was another impressive effort, earning them featured slots at festivals including the California Roots Festival and Reggae on the River. A passionate and energetic live act known for their inspirational performances, New Kingston continue to spread their unique sound and hopeful message on tour.
I've never been disappointed after 10 years of shows, and this is no exception. This family has worked so hard and grown so incredibly over these past years, it is a true stardom story that will never be forgotten.

New kingston is under rated out here in atlanta! I enjoyed every minute of the show, their voices and sound is something that the reggae community had been missing for a long time. There wasn't one moment were I was dancing or swaying my hips. Next time They come to Atlanta I will help pass the word around!
Seen them twice in St Petersburg: both very memorable shows. After meeting other bands over the years and having been treated unkindly by some, I was blown away by their interaction with the fans before AND after their shows. They are all down to earth, funny and attentive guys and their set consists of lots of movement, interaction with the crowd and sincere emotion in their music. It was an honor to be recognized in the crowd as a major fan (which I always will be!) and I appreciated the time they took to speak to us all before and after the set. It would be absolutely magical for them to return to St Petersburg once again and they would be met with herbal gifts ;)
The show was Great!!! So much fun, make sure to see the show whenever we can. Even went to the New York show.
