The Class B Boys Basketball tournament was unforgettable. Of course it helped that my team won the championship. Venue was great and attendance was awesome.
The games were great as always . But the management of the tourney was horrible there were no ushers or ? to keep an eye on spectators and keep the fans with gen. adm . tickets out of reserved seats so they overran the place . I skipped championship night because I was so disappointed in the way it went . Many of us just gave up and left . Someone needs to go up to Minot and see how to run an Event like this . I love the B and in BISMARCK ITS USUALLY TOP SHELF BUT NOT THIS YEAR . When I pay for reserved seating I want enjoy the games ( hard to do when you can't see.) You need to have people checking tickets and keep our reserved seats RESERVED not overrun by the natives . I asked them to sit down and keep there signs down and NOTHING happened but my DISGUST .
The event site & tournament was great! The Class B Boys' should always be held in Bismarck. The town knows how to be a great host. I have a some suggestions for the Bismarck Event Center... 1) Better/quicker or more workers at the Food Stands. It took forever to get something from the concession stands! Missed most of a quarter standing in line. Maybe add some TV monitors, so a person could watch the action while standing in line. 2) If the suggestion in #1 aren't possible, add more Concession stands! 3) The Kulm Communtiy Band was great, when you could hear them. I realize the Event Center has sponsors, but to blare out their and your commercials while the band was playing was just plan rude. 4) Turn down the speaker volume. 5) $3.50 for a bottle of water, really? Just to high!
What can we say??!!??? 10,000 screaming BB fans cheering on 2 unforgettable teams loaded with talent....it was amazing! Nothing better than Class B Basketball baby!
Each day when we arrived at our seats someone was sitting in them. We had to ask them to move. We didn't see any Usher checking your ticket to make sure in were in the right section.
Everything was excellent with the exception of 3 things. 1. You invite bands to play, yet you were drowning them out or limiting their play time with your own music or advertisements on the big screen. I thought that was disrespectful. Many of them came a long way to perform & weren't allowed to do so. If you owe so much time to your sponsors then don't book the pep bands. 2. Usually you have ushers checking tickets so people aren't sitting in reserved seating w/o a ticket. It wasn't done this year & people were constantly having to kick people out of their seats. Please reinstate that policy. 3. Upper seating walls, railing & floors could use a good scrubbing. Sticky & smelly!
programs were poor. need team info and stats on same page and in larger print. last years program much better. Need to have stats board like Minot and Grand forks have. Did not even display player number and fouls at this venue.
the whole tournament was very good and exciting. Just the kind of games that class B fans expected.
The aren't was to large for the even and it made the place feel empty.
Great tournament - not fond of the up charges on the general admission but because our school opted not to get any general admission that was the only choice we had. Also, concessions where ridiculous pricey. Shouldn't be robbing families for this event.
