Nappy Roots were what I expected as a fan from the old days. The directions from the Ticketmaster link took us to a field 7 miles from the venue. They didn’t have merch for us to buy and the guys didn’t take the stage until 9:45pm. Opening acts were done by 8:30 so then we just sat.
The show was great! I would choose to sit upstairs rather than down because the seat ceiling is too low! We tried to order food as we were given a menu upon sitting. We were tms to go upstairs to order. We did that only to be told by two workers to order downstairs. We go back down and was told no we couldn’t order downstairs we had to go upstairs! We explained that we already were there and told to come downstairs. All we got was “sorry”and that really spoiled what would have been a god experience.
I knew a few Nappy Roots songs so I decided to check them out. I was BLOWN away by how fun and high energy the show was. Love those guys!
I was waiting until 12 a at the venue in New Smyrna Beach, Fl and they never showed!
ticket said show started at 9. we got there at around 930. waited, waited, and then waited some more. some kid took the stage and put on basically a bootleg karaoke rap show for 20 minutes. waited some more. finally gave up at 1130 and left. never saw the nappy roots.
I had the best night of my life there! Nappy Roots put on a great show and they were full of energy!
The opening acts def got the crowd goin, including Lars, Mutt Carter, Groove Stain. Nappy Roots was amazing :) I'm from a small town in WV, so they really hit deep with their lyrics. Great music at a great venue :)
After waiting for hours and hours and watching 7 opening acts...........I wanted to pull my hair out.........but I was so glad that I waited for the Nappy Roots to show up and do their thing. They were the best hip hop group I have ever seen live. I would definitely jump to see these guys again.
The energy from these guys was amazing, they had the whole crowd so completely into every song they did. I will be at every one of their nearby concerts!
Nappy Roots killed it. Only Skinny DeVille, Big V and Fish Scales showed, but they held it down and gave a very energetic show. They did new and old stuff, had some great and unexpected tribute segments. The small setting of the Mercury Lounge made this show great. I could have staid there jammin all night with Nappy. Get the new album too!
