Show had no flow.Did not like Brooklyn Reuion should have been each group alone.The end of the Drifters set was cut short by stage hands lets get this set apart before they can do a encore.
After all these years, each group looked sharp and sounded great. The Fireflies, The Shantelles, The Brooklyn Reunion (Mystics, Classics and Passions), The Original Crickets, The Planotones, and the Drifters sang some beautiful tunes that brought back beautiful memories. A little humor was thrown in now and then, and the performers appeared to be enjoying themselves as much as the audience did. And The Drifters are still doing the smooth choreography along with the singing.
This is the third year we have gone to the doo wop extravaganza and we think it gets better every year. It was nice that you had local dj's on stage. And, as always, Kenny Vance and the Planetones stole the show. They get better every year, too. We had ten in our group, came early and did some tail-gating. It was a great day at beautiful Bethel Woods.
Was a fabulous show!!! The Crickets were amazing..extremely talented, funny and brought back many fond memories. All other were super also but Kenny Vance stole the show....2nd time seeing him at Bethel Woods and already planning on next year!! Thank you for bringing such wonderful entertainment to the area.
We went last year as well and enjoyed the show .I suggest the show include groups and artists more into the mid and late sixties to increase the audience pool and frankly the late fifties guys dont have too many shows left in them to perform.
They had a lot of good groups that sounded real good, I'll be back next year
The show was great. The sound and presentation were great and the whole experience was excellent. But, the final act was dreadful. Old, very old and no longer able to sing well. Fortunately, one bad apple couldn't spoil the whole evening. Kenny Vance and the Planotones were the hit of the show. A few points... 1. If you presented an evening with Kenny Vance I would certainly buy tickeds ASAP. 2. Food and beverage prices are simply to expensive. For a sandwich, soda and ice cream I could have eaten at a restaurant prior to the show. 3. The shuttle bus from Monticello racetrack to Bethel Woods is SUPER. I will always avail myself of this whenever possible. Thank you
The NY Doo Wop Extravaganza was an outstanding concert! Glad I was able to attend, had a greta time. Each Artist(s)/Group(s) were Great! and it brought back many memories! Seeing ORIGINAL Artist(s) performing is Heart Warming. The Oriignal Artist(s)/ Group(s) need everyone's Support bu attending these shows.
