NCAA D3 Stagg Bowl Campionship 2016
by DFalcon on 1/15/17Salem Civic Center - SalemThe game gets 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️'s. The Venue itself gets Zero ⭐️'s. Come on NCAA... this is a National Championship game!!! The players and fans deserve better than this Venue. High Schools play in better stadiums and their playoff games are often in nice domed stadiums. Pitiful, old antiquated stadium where the weather plays a major factor. Pro: 1. Affordable game tickets and concessions. 2. Hot Chocolate $2.00 3. People were nice. 4. Free parking. Cons: 1. Antiquated Stadium 2. Nasty bathrooms 3. Only Bench seating. 4. No in place Jumbotron. They had to bring one in and run it by loud generators. 5. Sad player dressing room facilities (per first hand comments) 6. Hard Venue to get to. No direct flights and expensive to get to. You have to fly commuter planes in to Roanoke from other major cities. So plan on a full day for travel. 7. Weather plays a major factor at this Venue. Freezing miserable cold! 8. Loud speaker system was inaudible. Couldn't hear or understand anything the announcers were saying. 9. Only entrance was on the home side. So if you are the visitors, you have to trek completely around the stadium to get to your seats. NCAA needs to consider moving the Stagg Bowl to a major city that easier to travel to, with better weather and better facilities. This Venue in Salem Virginia was a major disappointment.
