    An experience like no other!

by DrCarolClark on 12/3/14Amaturo Theater at Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

The music and dance of these Tibetan monks is a fundamentally connecting experience. The sounds originated in the earth, the vibration connected all life, and I transcended time. I hope everyone will support the Drepung Loseling Monastery. I plan on adopting a monk!

Mystical Arts of Tibet Was Amazing

by JeffeJ on 12/2/14Amaturo Theater at Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

We arrived in Ft. Lauderdale by boat on Friday and were present in the rotunda to watch the Monks creating the beautifully detailed and colorful mandala. On Friday we returned to hear them formally end its construction. To the accompaniment of the Monk's tri-tonal chanting, horns, cymbal and bells we were swept into the mountains of Tibet as the Monks solemnly destroyed their sand painting by sweeping the colored grains of sand into a brown pile. After following the procession down the stairs to the same cacophony of sounds, we watched the Monks solemnly pour the sands of their mandala into the New River. It was a very moving experience that brought us new insight into the plight of the people of Tibet. We returned in the evening for the main show that consisted of similar sounds and sights plus ceremonial dances of their Tibetan culture. In all it was marvelous.

    Tibet comes to Ft Lauderdale

by Dirtyhouse48 on 12/2/14Amaturo Theater at Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

Really didn't know what to expect. But watch the movies like Lost Horizon, Seven Years in Tibet and love them. Also have a prayer wheel by my front door. The bass monk was better than Bozer from Sha na na. Love the White Lion dance his tail never stopped wagging. Over all an experience I won't forget. Calmed me down. Thanks Have a safe flight home and hopefully Tibet will be free one day.

The Mystical Arts of Tibet Sacred Music Sacred Dan

by kayaknm on 11/13/12UTEP Magoffin Auditorium - El Paso

It's a performance that you feel with your soul. I enjoyed the sharing of culture especially the performance when the monks debated an issue. It was so lively and fun to watch. The dancing brought out the child in me. The white tiger dance was a delight to watch.

    Nice introduction to Tibetan culture

by freetibet on 4/15/12Jo Long Theatre - San Antonio

The dances were very simple, not much technical razzle-dazzle, but costumes were all spectacular. The music was not anything like anyone ever hears, especially the throat singing. The Snow Lion dance was very well received and the monastic debate scene was both baffling and entertaining.
