What an enjoyable evening. Zahi Hawass is quite a showman as well as being funny, informative and just downright interesting. His enthusiasm for the antiquities of Egypt make one want to go and see them NOW. A memorable evening.

    So interesting!

by SailorDonut on 3/14/10War Memorial Opera House - San Francisco

I loved this presentation, it was so informative. I have studied ancient Egypt for a long time so I knew I was going to enjoy it, but I was worried that my dad, who knows nothing about Egyptology, wouldn't like it; but he also LOVED the presentation, saying that Dr. Hawass really made it interesting and informative for laypeople as well as experts. Now he wants to learn more about Egyptology!

    Hawass is GREAT!

by Musecat on 3/12/10War Memorial Opera House - San Francisco

He is a fabulous speaker and so entertaining, as was Omar Shariff who made everyone laugh as well. It was a thrill to see Hawass live, and then to visit the Tut exhibit made it even more spectacular. Thank you so much for the show.

    Zahi Hawass

by DEDB on 3/12/10War Memorial Opera House - San Francisco

Zahi Hawass is an outstanding speaker. During his talk, he keep the entire audience enthralled with his stories. His ability to play to the media has resulted in archeaology in Egypt progressing at a rate never seen before while at the same time having the magnificent finds staying within Egypt. As Omar Sharif said in the preview, he used to be the most famous Egyptian.

    Dr. Hawass was hilarious

by Schtiv on 3/11/10War Memorial Opera House - San Francisco

I never realized that this man was so funny. He should have been a stand up comic instead of the whole Indiana Jones thing. His descriptions of his experiences made it seem like you were there. It seems that his passion for his work is only surpassed by his willingness to share his adventures with others. His generous offers to those who presented him with questions about the wonders of Egyption artifacts drew huge ovations. The stories he told of the digs he has taken part in made you want to go dig by his side. Well except maybe the one about the houses built over the tunnels that did not have plumbing...

    Inspiring

by pianist7 on 3/11/10War Memorial Opera House - San Francisco

The amount of energy and anticipation displayed from the audience was overwhelming. People drove from Arizona and traveled from Cleveland while local parents brought children of all ages. To say that Dr. Hawass is a charismatic figure is an understatement. His passion for the work he has done in the "Valley of the Kings" had a powerful effect on all of us. His concern for the individual (especially children) to find their own "Valley of the Kings" was an inspiring message for all. I was honored to have the opportunity to attend this event and I left the "Opera House" with a refreshed vision for my profession.

    Dr. Zahi Hawass was AWESOME!!!

by thezwomann on 3/10/10War Memorial Opera House - San Francisco

From the moment he took the stage until the moment he left, Dr. Zahi Hawass entertained, enlightened, and educated the audience. Our party included myself, my husband, our 7-year old son, and my parents. We all thoroughly enjoyed the evening, and we're still talking about it--days later.
