    Murray Perahia

by Rabbitbrush on 3/13/15Centennial Hall - Tucson

Mr. Perahia is of the old school, he enters the stage, bows and commences playing with very little interaction with the audience. I'm contrasting this performance with that of Lang Lang's presentation last year. I particularly enjoyed the first half of the evening - by choosing Bach then Haydn and then Beethoven, Mr. Perahia played progressively more exuberant compositions. Forget the second half, it was just a lot of noise.

    Murray Perahia

I've studied and played piano since the age of 6, so this was a "required" event for me. Mr. Perahia is an accomplished pianist and I enjoyed hearing him play so expressively. I noticed that a lot of seats went unsold, and also that they are opened up before the event begins for students. which is admirable. Why are so many seats unsold? Do you find that true for other events? Does it relate to the high cost of tickets?

    Murray was awesome

by dscogg on 3/13/15Centennial Hall - Tucson

Murray is an amazing pianist. He brings a lifetime of experience and passion. The program was wonderfully constructed, ending with my favorite piece of piano music, Chopin's Scherzo in B minor. And the two encores were wonderful.

Murray Perahia was absolutely amazing! I had never experienced him in person and did not expect such an exciting and passionate performance. This concert was everything I have always hoped for from a concert but have seldom experienced. The whole program totally grabbed my soul. We left with big smiles on our faces. Thank you, Murray Perahia!

    Perahia Demonstrates His True Greatness

by Jwcoop on 3/3/14Valley Performing Arts Center - Northridge

Murray Perahia is the greatest American pianist of his generation and one of the world's greatest at that. He proved it with dazzling ease in his interpretations of Bach, Beethoven, Schumann and Chopin. Ease technically, but full focus, imagination and spirit at every moment.

Unforgettable experience! Being able to hear Murray Perahia's music while seeing his hands flying on the keys, his feet controlling the pedals, and the full emersion through his facial expression was just awesome!

I honestly did not know what to expect. However the moment Murray walked on stage, I knew I was in for a treat! The program was fantastic, it was a professional recital that was appropriate for all audience members to appreciate. I was want to mention the beautiful bouquet that was placed on stage was very exquisite. It looked so nice, but it wasn't too much. Overall, this recital was one to never forget. Bravo Murray, bravo!!!
