About

In 2008, both Sub Pop and Mudhoney celebrated their 20th anniversaries. Sub Pop could think of no better way to do so than by putting out as many Mudhoney records as possible. So, in the past 18 months, Subpop has released a new Mudhoney album called The Lucky Ones the deluxe, remastered edition of Superfuzz Bigmuff, and recently, the vinyl reissue of Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge.

As Jay Hinman says in the liner notes for the deluxed-up Superfuzz: "My feeling-and I know I'm not alone in this one-is that for all the play and worldwide attention several Seattle-area bands got during the 1988-92 period, at the end of the day (and even at the time), there was Mudhoney-and then there was everybody else. To me, you, and most everyone who was paying close attention to underground rock music during those years, Mudhoney still sound like the undisputed kingpins of roaring, surging, fuzzed-out, punk rock music. Mudhoney

by Kathi on 11/17/23Teragram Ballroom - Los Angeles

Mudhoney is one of the handful of bands that will get me out of the house in my old age & I’m so happy I made the hour & a half drive to see them!! The Teragram Ballroom was a cool venue even though the parking was a challenge

    Amazing show!

by Dave on 10/29/23Brighton Music Hall presented by Citizens - Boston

They played everything I was hoping to hear. The band was super accessible. Steve and Danny were signing autographs and hanging out after the show.

    As incredible as ever

They've never stopped crushing it. The set included gems and deep cuts from all "eras"/ albums. This was a great venue, too.

So glad I saw Mark Arm live!

by Jules on 5/29/22The Regent Theater - Los Angeles

Mudhoney: great, 5 stars, would give them 6 if they played something off ‘$5 Bob.’ The Regent: it’s a fairly small room with no railings to stand by or lean against so we went upstairs to sit through the opening act. Free water at the bar which was a surprise! But then the bands started so we walked down and there was NO airflow, just a sweltering wooden box. It reduced the risk of damage because no one could mosh in that heat. Ultimately we left at what we predicted to be 15 min before the end because it was getting too hot to breathe or enjoy the music.

    great

by Pocahotness on 5/24/22The Regent Theater - Los Angeles

Mudhoney killed it. I have loved them since the 90's & they DID NOT disapoint. The venue was perfect too. Its small and thats just the way I like it. Mark sounded as good as the last time I saw him years ago at the Palladium. & hell ya they play the greats like "touch me i'm sick". Loved it.

    Groovy and Cathartic

by Mr NoOne on 5/23/22The Regent Theater - Los Angeles

Pro: Mudhoney and Meat Puppets at Regent last night. Super heavy. Equal parts Black Flag, Sabbsth, and Iggy. Then Meat Puppets took it everywhere, a musical journey sonic and sublime. Con: Got Tickets for me my daughter and her fiancé. They didn’t have Vaccine info so no go 👎 The audience was a little long in the tooth and just shy of a sausage fest, not including parents with children and enough attractive women to admire. Conclusion: In the end I probably needed the rock n roll catharsis. Both bands in their own way exceeding my expectations in performance and melody. Rock n Roll lives! Plus aging punk rockers look so much better than baby boomers at same age, at least in Los Angeles
