Mizzou Tigers Football History

The University of Missouri put together its first football team in 1890, and the program enjoyed immediate success. They won a share of the Western Interstate University Football Association title in 1893,1894 and 1895. In 1907, Missouri joined what would later become the Big 12 Conference, and in the process formed heated rivalries with Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Iowa State.

Don Faurot led Missouri to two periods of success as Missouri's head football coach and athletic director, first from 1935-1942 and then from 1946-1956. They made multiple bowl games in that span. In 1972, the university honored Faurot by naming the playing surface at Memorial Stadium in his honor. Under Gary Pinkel, who coached the Tigers from 2001 to 2015, Missouri shared three Big 12 North titles and won two SEC East championships (2013 and 2014).

Missouri has had legends pass through the program, including Pro Football Hall of Famers tight end Kellen Winslow Sr. and cornerback Roger Wehrli.

The Tigers have won 15 conference titles, including 12 Big 8 championships.

I had so much fun! Everyone was professional, the lines went by smoothly and the items I got were delicious. The staff was amazing and super courteous when I first came in to scan my ticket, I got so many greetings as me and my friend made our way to the Hill. The BEST time & for sure will be back.

    Making my rounds

by KnxTn865 on 10/10/23Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium - Columbia

I’ve been traveling SEC stadiums since 2019 and I found the recent LSU at Mizzou game to not be worth the hype. The fans were kind and the facility was clean but it lacked the fever pitch you see and feel in other stadiums within the conference. Also, some chants used were referencing ball clubs from a conference and rivalry long past. I’d like to have seen Mizzou developing in their rivalry status and crowd noise since their introduction into the conference. There were also times within the game in which LSU was backed up within the 20 of their own end zone and the crowd lacked the response needed to win the home team a false start or delay of game. My hope was to experience a home team advantage and Mizzou win the upset of the week, but instead I watched the LSU Tigers dismantle a 5-0 home team with a 2.5 possession lead. Im not worried about my Vols traveling to Columbia in November to say the least.

    No entry policy

by Kathryn on 9/28/23The Dome at America's Center - St Louis

Love the game did not appreciate the information of it being a no entry policy. Which was not displayed on anything. This should be on the tickets regardless of it being digital or not and should also be displayed at the transworld dome. Went to smoke a cigarette at halftime and was not allowed back into the game

Excellent game. Enjoyed the comfort of the Edward Jones stadium. Can’t wait for next Mizzou game there. Food prices really reasonable.
