    Terrible venue!

by Pageant Mom on 12/18/22Mohegan Sun Earth Expo & Convention Center - Uncasville

Love Miss America and what the program stands for but the venue was terrible! Without it being in the arena, having flat seating and no large screens for viewing, we literally saw nothing but the heads of those in front of us. The sound quality was also not good. With the considerable rise in ticket prices this year ($165 for mid level seating), this was absolutely not a good value. However, being at Miss America is always an experience we enjoy… just wish we could have seen and heard better. Put it back in the arena or, better yet, bring it back to Atlantic City!

The stage was low. Had difficulty seeing

by SKS on 12/18/22Mohegan Sun Earth Expo & Convention Center - Uncasville

We sat in the middle of Arena but couldn’t enjoy the proceedings as peoples heads were in the way. Had the stage been a few feet higher we would have enjoyed. We left half way as getting tired for lifting our heads and necks

    Disappointing

    by MissAmericaReview on 12/16/22

The girls all did an amazing job, but the venue did not impress me. The tickets were way overpriced for all seats, considering it was like you were siting in a gym and you couldn’t see anything over the person in front of you. Was very let down by the choice of venue.

    Horrid sound system

by Voice Chick on 12/15/22Mohegan Sun Earth Expo & Convention Center - Uncasville

The "sound engineers" did not know how to handle the EQ board, and set the lower bass frequencies at such a high volume that it (1) was PAINFUL in both the dress rehearsal and the preliminary show, and (2) distorted all talent amplification (instrumental and singers). Can only surmise that the "sound engineer" was actually a percussionist or bass player and only wanted those frequencies for "excitement" which was completely wrong. On the positive side, I really liked the staging sequences of red carpet when all the young women were on stage. Fluid and elegant.

    Women Brought the Venue Didn’t

by Mama215 on 12/15/22Mohegan Sun Earth Expo & Convention Center - Uncasville

The hardworking women on the stage were giving it their all but the microphones and volume was interesting making it difficult to hear sometimes. Also the flat seating on the ground made looking at the stage troublesome for some talents. Wish the set up was different or maybe a screen on the sides to see more of what was happening due to the seating arrangement. Overall the contestants gave their hearts wish I could see more.

    Miss the 1.0 Pageant

by PageantFan on 12/19/21Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

I don’t like all the new changes. Please bring back some of the glamour! Bring back evening gown and add athletic wear if you don’t want swimsuit. Also, there was no need for 2 sets of interview it’s too much!! You didn’t even give the winner flowers or a walk!

Yakking and bias comments by emcee

by Voice Chick on 12/15/21Mohegan Sun Earth Expo & Convention Center - Uncasville

There was a strong bias of emcee lauding only select states in the talent segment which accounts for the largest percentage of points. Although you could say it was scripted, that too would be a BAD idea. The emcees need to remain neutral for each contestant (aka candidate) throughout each segment of competition. Otherwise, it will truly be an "inside job." There was also a lot of verbose talking by the emcees. Why not fill any needed time with video segments over the 100 years of Miss America?

Miss America 2.0 was simply a reality show.

by Sealion on 12/27/19Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

It appeared that the goal of Miss America 2.0 was to dramatize the program like a reality show rather than following the traditions and rules of a fair Miss America Pageant. There should have been a minimum of five judges and the judges selected should not have a hidden agenda as at least one judge did. It also appeared that each contestant needed to be armed with a sob story that she had overcome in order to be considered as a finalist. The only thing missing in this reality show was allowing the contestants to vote people off the island.

    Wow

by Cray on 12/24/19Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

The seats were blocked by camera crew so the venue changed the seat and I had a terrific view. I am glad they did that because the tickets were expensive and my reply would be a lot different. I had such an amazing time watching how a live show was produced.
