    Mindy Smith

by Anonymous on 9/21/12Rhythm Room - Phoenix

She was so funny and quirky. I loved her personality and stories in between her songs. Her voice was incredible. And I especially loved looking at her percussion guy...hot! Overall--great night. Worth staying out late on a work night.

Mindy Smith - Sweet Sweet Intoxication

by DylanQuint on 4/28/11Aladdin Theater - Portland

crystal is the only word that comes to mind when I try to describe Mindy's beautiful voice... there's an addictive sadness mingled with richness of hope in her eyes as well as her songs... so personable and welcoming... not always perfect but always warm and so human... singer/songwriter heaven... with sprinkles...

    Falling star!

    by Music10 on 4/28/11Aladdin Theater - Portland

I have never seen Mindy Smith in concert so I didn't know what to expect. When the concert started I was shocked to see under 150 seats filled in a theater that holds three times as many seats. After the show I figured it out. Mindy Smith's Albums have been getting progressively worse since one more moment and so has here act. She was un-polished. Forgetting the words to songs. She kept saying she was sorry while tunning her guiter and had a hard time telling how the songs came about. She needs to clean up her act! It was little worthy of the $20 something dollars and reminded me of a practice session for a bar in podunk Tennesse, not worthy of a Ticket Master billing. Her voice is wonderful and the songs are well written. I have always viewed her as soft and tender with class and style and associated that with her image and music. I was shocked to find out she is more like Gretchen Wilson. The package distorted how I hear her music now. Buy and keep the timeless album one more moment but skip the act!

    Unprepared and flighty

by msmithfan on 6/5/10Arts at the Armory - Somerville

My husband an I saw Mindy Smith last night at the Somerville Arts at the Armory. While her voice was incredible, her lack of preparedness really detracted from the show. She forgot lyrics for at least three of her songs (even giggling in the middle of One Moment More when she forgot the lyrics). She also wasted several minutes between songs trying to remember the proper key for the song. While initially this was mildly entertaining and endearing, it soon grew very old. I realize this was a small venue with an even smaller turnout, but it felt like she didn't really care about the show. At $25 bucks a ticket, I had hoped for a more polished performance.

    Delightful but rambling

by Edster84 on 1/23/10Coach House - Capistrano - San Juan Capistrano

I enjoyed the high quality of her voice, which has a transportive quality. I loved the opening number "Jolene" and the encore number "Come to Jesus, " which ranks among the finest spiritual songs I have ever heard. I recommend opening with Come to Jesus and saving Jolene for the encore. However, the evening was over-lengthened by the having 2 opening acts, the first of which was efficient but unmemorable, the second was talented but too rambling. Additionally, Mindy did not seem very engaged in her audience. I had been on the watch to see her in So Cal for several years, so I was disappointed by what could have been a wonderful intimate show. Also, the Coach House was freezing.

    Mindy-Voice of an Angel

by Vissy on 1/23/10Coach House - Capistrano - San Juan Capistrano

After two opening acts, MINDY was worth the wait. Great stories about the roots of her songs and a voice that was on the mark all night. We missed her open for Jonny Lang and have finally seen her for real. She's the real deal. Coach House is a cheap and intimate place to see top notch talent close up and without overwhelming crowd.
