THE MILK CARTON KIDS IN CONCERT:

Fans of sophisticated, harmony-oriented folk have a new hero in up-and-coming duo the Milk Carton Kids. The band's unique sound is the perfect blend of nostalgia and innovation, breathing new life into the traditional folk genre with whimsical lyrics and unique melodies. At their intimate live shows, the duo's generous sense of humor allows audiences to really connect with soul-stirring songs like "Michigan" and "Maybe It's Time", making for a concert experience fans won't soon forget.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Singers and guitarists Kenneth Pattengale and Joey Ryan formed the Milk Carton Kids in Los Angeles in early 2011. They made their album debut that same year with Retrospect, which they released for free on their site. Later in 2011 they released their sophomore album Prologue, another free release that won over critics and fans alike with its hushed, bittersweet songs and introspective vibe. While these first two albums gained them a considerable following, it was 2013's The Ash & Clay that propelled them to new heights, earning them a Grammy nomination for Best Folk Album and an Emerging Artist of the Year nod at the Americana Music Honors & Awards. Accomplished live performers known for their intimate live shows, the Milk Carton Kids continue to dazzle on the road in support of their acclaimed albums.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Great folk music, amazing guitar playing, and hilarious stand-up comedy all in one."

"By now, Joey and Kenneth have the reputation of having banter just as entertaining as any stand-up comic. It balances out the melancholy in their lyrics, and the beauty of their melodies. Their respect for each other as musicians is clear, and their voices come together beautifully."

"I was expecting ridiculously talented guitarists, which I got. I was not expecting a stand up routine, which I also got and LOVED. Joe and Kenneth play off each other and the audience with a hysterically dry, dead-pan style humor. I cannot wait for them to come back!"
