About

Miike Snow is an indie electro-pop trio comprised of writer/producers Chris Karlsson, Pontus Winnberg, and Andrew Wyatt that debuted in 2009 on the label Downtown Records. Based in Stockholm, Sweden, Karlsson and Winnberg are best known as the production duo Bloodshy & Avant. As such, they worked with a range of international pop stars during the early 2000s, including Britney Spears, Madonna, Kylie Minogue, and Ms. Dynamite. Most notably, their production of Spears' 2004 chart-topping smash hit "Toxic" won a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording in 2005. Based in New York City, Wyatt is a writer/producer who formerly collaborated in the groups Black Beetle and the A.M. with Joan Wasser and Michael Tighe, respectively. He's also an in-house producer for Downtown Records (Spank Rock, Amanda Blank) and a member of the band Fires of Rome, which made its full-length album debut with You Kingdom You (2009). Founded in 2007, Miike Snow brought the talents of the three together in one group, and the commercial debut single "Animal" was released on Downtown Records in 2009. A batch of promotional MP3s was also released and proved popular in the music blogosphere. Among this initial batch of MP3s were the songs "Animal" and "Burial," along with remixes of these songs by DJ Mehdi, Crookers, Benny Blanco, and Treasure Fingers; plus, there was a Miike Snow remix of the Vampire Weekend song "The Kids Don't Stand a Chance." The trio's full-length album debut was released later in the year on Downtown Records and the group departed for a North American tour. In 2012, they founded the indie label Ingrid with Lykke Li, Dungen, and Peter Bjorn and John, before releasing their second full-length Happy to You. ~ Jason Birchmeier, Rovi

    Miike Snow Doesn't Disappoint

by Abracad on 7/6/17Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

Miike Snow was great - singer in good form. Too much time between bands is my only complaint - would have liked for Miike Snow to come up about an hour earlier.

    Great Show!

    by Magic721 on 7/4/17Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

Both Miike Snow and Phantogram performances were awesome. Having seen Phantogram a number of times, I knew what to expect. But MIIKE SNOW?! WOW! They blew me away with their versatility and overall performance. Loved the venue as well!

    New respect for Miike Snow!

    by DCFCfan30 on 7/4/17Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

I had no idea what I was going to get when I came to this show. I was more familiar with Phantogram but had never seen either group perform live. I was impressed with how good the vocals were for both groups since it was near the end of the tour. I danced my way through both performances and loved the energy of the crowd as the sun went down and Miike Snow performed "Silvia". It gave me a new appreciation for that song. The only drawback I can think of is that sometimes Andrew wyatt seemed a little loopy; like lightweight drunk loopy. Some of the things that he was doing definitely made me feel like he was pretry "sauced". But overall it was a great concert and I would definitely go see them again!

    Phantogram was amazing!!

by Adeleisa on 7/4/17Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

I was into Phantogram but have become a big fan after seeing their concert! Sarah's voice is amazing live and there is so much chemistry between her and the audience. She also brought a doggy on stage and it was a big hit. The effects/graphics was also perfect - I especially loved the animals in Cruel World, Jellyfish in Mouth of Diamonds, and the animations for You Don't Get Me High Anymore. I also liked Miike Snow but his presence on stage could not compare to Phantogram. His effects were too small and his songs were sort of monotoneous after a while... I am sorry to say but his concert was not all that worth it.

    Phantogram was awesome

    by sparkman25 on 7/4/17Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

Phantogram did an amazing show and interacted perfectly with the audience. however miike snow was okay. he didn't interact with the audience and the one time he did he got the name of the city he was performing in wrong. i would pay to see phantogram again for sure!

Miiike Sniiiw was Amazing - Phantagram not so much

    by Lula123 on 7/4/17Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

I really like Phantagram (when they are not live). I believe that their sound guy was WAY OFF on the bass/subwoofer. In complete contrast was the Miiike Sniiiw sound - it was really terrific and what you would expect in venue like the Greek.
