I have seen this band live on different occasions but listen to them for over 15 years. But it is nothing like seeing them live.

Lot of great artists, too little Midnite

by Sarasota2 on 8/3/13Revolution Live - Ft Lauderdale

The show as great. All of the artists were great, but in a venue with zero seating, we winded up on our feet standing/dancing for 8 hours. By the time I-Wayne and Midnite were up, which are the artists we were really paying to see, we were exhausted. As much as we enjoyed the other artists, we would have preferred fewer of them and more time for I-Wayne and Midnite. One of Midnite's hallmarks is long, uninterrupted shows and I was disappointed at how little time we got to hear them.

Hail the King was a Rastafari Education!

by KenLaughs on 7/23/13Revolution Live - Ft Lauderdale

The entire Hail the King event was one of the best executed shows I've ever seen. The talent from WAVS radio did a great job, and even with many artists, they stayed on schedule. I-Wayne was the bright star of the evening. His stage presence, awesome voice and amazing songwriting is not to be missed. Though many say Midnite is the greatest ever, once you've heard one song, you've heard them all. I think it's a new genre, trance reggae. Midnite compared to I-Wayne's previous set, didn't even come close. Go I-Wayne! Please come back to south Florida some time.

    Midnite

    by ITALARAS77 on 5/20/13Variety playhouse - atlanta

There comes a point in a musical journey, hopefully, when you have to recognize that things have changed. For better or for worse, if you make music for a long enough period of time, you're likely to come across a moment when you notice that maybe there aren't as many people talking about you or coming to your shows, or maybe there're considerably more. That's the actual tangible case, as for the more figurative, you may also notice your name coming up more or less online or through other mediums. This is getting older and this is getting more and more popular. While I can't imagine that a sudden stage show boom, for the audience size in attendance, has occurred for Midnite, I can say over the last year they're starting to tune into one of the last bastions of Reggae music over which they previously did not exist a great deal. The media. The Virgin Islands' finest may just be the greatest case of 'word-of-mouth' popularity in Reggae history. They (why do I keep saying "they"?) seemed to become more well known despite years and years of media apathy (probably a bit more like confusion to be more accurate), but when the ultra active entity kicked up something special in 2011 all of that seemed to change. Of course I'm referring to the "King's Bell" album which, in retrospect, was probably one of the most discussed projects in all of last year and it's still being talked about to a large degree for an album of how old it is. Now, I'm fully confident that such a shift has effected the face of Midnite, Vaughn Benjamin, to any degree. I don't know if he's noticed it -- maybe he's doing more interviews these days -- and I'm certain he doesn't care, but maybe someone very important has taken notice. The labels. The "King's Bell" album showed for the first time in quite a long while that "MIDNITE" could be promoted and done so effectively. That album came via I Grade Records who have a fine history of getting the word out about their work, but I think it says something really powerful that arguably THE most popular release of a catalog which is well over forty albums deep arrived just last year and you're thinking about doing an album to go into that same vault nearly a year on.

One of the greats, not to be missed. The sound man got out of control with effects but it didn't cast much of a shadow on the great Midnite.

One of my best experiences ever!!!!

by RacquelC on 5/19/13B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New York

Flew all the way in from Houston to bless up with midnite and it was well worth it. There is really no bad set in the concert hall, so I was close enough to see and really feel present and in the moment. Can't wait to see midnite here in Houston. Thanks

    Midnite is awesome!

by Takuskanska on 2/7/13Brighton Music Hall - Boston

Great show albeit a little short. I was excited to see both this band and the opener high hopes. Both were exceptional with solid sets of great reggae music roots vibrations. Midnite failed to do an encore though and for some reason that bothered me. I been to many years of shows and was a little disappointed in the no encore. Other than that they were fantastic delivering a solid set of great music. May have been a time constraint so I'm inclined to let it pass have seen them before and they usually do extrslong sets with everyone dancing all night long. If you haven't seen this band and you like roots music, do it at your first opportunity. They carry the torch very well indeed!!

    TERRIBLE

by Anonymous on 5/3/12The Joy Theater - New Orleans

This was a terrible experience. We waited until 4am and the opening band was still on. Friends waited until 6am and Dead Prez never showed up. This was a total waste of money and it ruined a very promising night. We felt like we deserved a full refund.
