    CHAPPO HITS THE BOWERY

by jfkc on 12/7/10Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORK

CHAPPO WAS GREAT. Intersting unique sound with colors of Neil Young vocals coupled with a zany stage show. I liked the Midnight Juggernauts sound melding a Brian Ferry/Depoche Mode vocals with a rock techno sound. Chappo stood out among the 3 bands. They had a nice fresh sound.

    Great Friday Night

by Rondell on 12/1/10Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORK

I usually see concerts at other venues but I love the Midnight Juggernauts so I decided to see them at the Bowery Ballroom. The first openning act, Chappo, was great, and the second, Bikini, not so great. The actual MJ performance was amazing!! they played both old and new stuff, and they interacted with the crowd. They sounded awesome too.

Good dance techno with some live instruments. Enjoyed the opening band just before them, too

    The headliner was cut short!

by anzy on 10/28/09Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORK

This event was fantastic but I have 2 complaints. One was that I was unable to see what time the bands were playing until I got to the venue. The second and my biggest peeve was that the Midnight Juggernauts were cut off at 1am!! I understand that this is a city law but the other bands who were not even featured on my ticket should have been cut off instead!! I waited five hours at the Bowery to see the MIdnight Jugernauts play only 5 songs. Next time, more time should be allowed for the main act.

    Too long, too short

by BanditKeith on 10/22/09Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORK

The entire thing was a "music festival", which I discovered upon entry into the Bowery Ballroom. I knew there were going to be a lot of opening acts, but I never knew opening acts could get an hour set. And some of the bands were complete garbage, like Freelance Whales. Then little surprises came along, like Findlay Brown, who dressed like a Johnny Cash and performed like Ray Orbinson, he was amazing beyond words. Then finally, at around 12 AM, Midnight Juggernauts came on, played about 6 songs, and left. The hell? I waited through crappy opening acts to get to the band I wanted to see, and they were off the stage in a flash. The crew setting up was longer than the actual performance. Overall, very disappointing.
