    Night with NEZ

by Pam Pullman on 1/24/19Neptune Theatre - Seattle

I had the best time ever. Mike Nesmith of the Monkees is one of my favorite artists. And the meet and greet was a dream come true, to meet him again for my 3rd time. The only thing that was disappointing was that you didn't get to speak to him for very long. And I had a few questions that I have always wanted to ask him. The last venue he was in in Seattle had him do the meet and greet in a private room one person at a time and you got to spend about 10 minutes max talking to him.

    Michael Nesmith

by Asa on 1/21/19Neptune Theatre - Seattle

It was a wonderful evening and a truly opportunity to see the first show of his West Coast Tour. The songs were all recognizable and the stories warm and fun to listen to. Working through the bumps of the first show made it still more fun. I wouldn't hesitate to go again and again when the opportunity presents itself.

    Wonderful, intimate concert

by Charles on 1/20/19Neptune Theatre - Seattle

Everybody ages, so I was worried about whether Nesmith's voice would still be strong. It is. His Texas drawl is a bit lighter than before, but still there, especially in his phrasing during songs. He played his earlier songs and chatted about them. The Neptune Theater was just the right size, with good sound and great sightlines for everyone.

And the Hits Just Keep On Comin'

    by simian1 on 1/20/19Neptune Theatre - Seattle

Wonderful show! Nez put together a fantastic set with Pete Finney on pedal steel. Ben Gibbard joined for several songs, including Papa Gene's Blues and The Crippled Lion, as lead vocal on the latter. It was an intimate concert in an intimate setting. Needless to say, next time Nez is here, I will be in attendance!

    Bucket List Check Off

by Greyfurgang on 10/5/18Birchmere - Alexandria

If you followed his catalog of releases after The Monkees this was well worth the cost or effort to attend. Seeing as how he could not have put together the original group this was more than adequate. His sons are very talented and put together some quality musicians. I am of the camp of people that believe that Poco and Michael Nesmith and the First National Band did this much better than The Eagles. See this if you can because I don't think it will happen again.

Nez plays the best music you never heard.

    by telostrat0 on 9/24/18Somerville Theatre - Somerville

Michael Nesmith showed up at Somerville Theater Wednesday night and played arguably his best music he did after he left the Monkees. He was backed by a great band that played his country rock music before the term "country rock" existed. The music was drawn from The First National Band albums. Not only were these tunes worthy of touring behind they were a delight to hear.

    Fantastic show!

by Rewel on 9/23/18Somerville Theatre - Somerville

Mr. Nesmith and his band played a ton of songs I never thought I'd get to see and hear live! I'm happy for the artists and the audience that people more and more are learning what an alt-country pioneer he is!

Michael Nesmith & The First National Band Redux

by Silexsong on 9/22/18Somerville Theatre - Somerville

An incredible show. The band was extremely tight. Nesmith and his two sons were fabulous- and Nez was very animated, candid and funny at times. The live band sounded better than the original studio musicians on the 1970’s records. This show offered a unique opportunity to relive the origins of country rock.

Michael Nesmith and The First National Band were by far the most excellent, and superb musical experience that I have ever had in my life...to date! Amazingly talented musicians!! Everyone was fabulous! Michael Nesmith was the best ever. He lit up the night. Not only did he sound wonderful, but his story telling was warm and funny. This whole experience was a blast! I have never enjoyed myself so much at a concert. I highly recommend going to hear and see, THE FIRST NATIONAL BAND REDUX!!! A+ A+ A+
