    Must See

by Jacks44 on 9/26/11Royce Hall - UCLA - Los Angeles

Michael Moore not only talks the talk he walks the walk. He is what all American's should be and that is active participants in their government. The stories Mikey read from his book, one was so unbelievably delightful it will have you rolling on the floor, the other about his Oscar win is a true indictment on free speech, our media, the FCC and most importantly all of us, his fellow Americans who did not stand up for him. For me he is our era's Thomas Paine. If you ever have the chance to see Mr. Moore in person GO! Even if it is just to know your not alone in all this!!

Are you willing to do his job?

by cstewart on 9/22/11Royce Hall - UCLA - Los Angeles

Michael Moore is a gentle, kind, thoughtful filmmaker. He draws people in with his humor and educates them with his immense data base of factual material. So factual sometimes that doubters do not want to believe it. But that's for them to figure out. Michael is a delight and his stories enlarge his humanity. By that, we are brought to see ourselves in his mirror of description of the American experience. If he wasn't married, I'd ask him for a date, even if we would have to "stay in" or wear costumes to disguise ourselves! He deserves our support, our admiration and our love. In the words of long gone Abbie Hoffman - Steal This Book!! Just kidding ...(?) If you can find a library open in California.....

    Fantastic Story telling

by Vahshi on 9/22/11Royce Hall - UCLA - Los Angeles

I knew Michael as a great documentary film maker and a political activist and a nice guy. I never thought of him as a great writer and story teller. He knocked my socks off with his great ability to recount his childhood and youth experiences. I already thought that he was a funny guy but somehow hadn't registered his superb sense of humor. I really enjoyed the evening.

    Michael Moore at UCLA

by sarahpreciado1 on 9/22/11Royce Hall - UCLA - Los Angeles

I've been a fan of Michael Moore since Bowling for Columbine, I think he is a great speaker and I recommend his new book, "Here comes Trouble: Stories From My Life" it is an exceptionally well written book , even if you think you may disagree with his views, he only speaks the truth (MOST are afraid to discuss let alone make documentaries about ) . This night at Royce Hall was unforgettable and I am still very much excited that I was there. He read an excerpt; after he had given his "Oscar" speech, he got so many death threats that he when we got back home there were signs on his lawn, the threats got worse, he read for a bit more and got choked up and had to stop- he said something to the effect like he hasn't been able to read that section aloud yet without totally losing it. I teared up a little.

    Michael rocks!

by Loweper on 9/22/11Royce Hall - UCLA - Los Angeles

I saw Mike a few years ago at a Presbyterian Church here in Los Angeles, I think it was the "Dude where's my country" tour. He had a lot of fire in his belly - so did we all. It was a raucous couple of hours and I loved it. After 8 years of Bush and working VERY HARD to get Obama in the white house and two years later with all the compromises etc. I've been finding it really hard to get excited about getting involved again. Until I saw Mike. He is so intelligent, articulate, inspiring - HUMAN. I don't think anyone who actually listens to him can not be filled with a sense of hope for our future. To go through what he continues to live with and yet still find it in his soul to push for what is right in our country is something we all should aspire to. While the evening wasn't near as raucous as 2004, I left saying to myself, "If he can do it, I can do it." Fight on Mike, thanks!

    He was great

by anniemrn on 10/16/10Morris Dailey Auditorium SJSU - San Jose

Although the show was late getting started and the AC in the auditorium was non-existent, it was a great evening. He is always articulate, passionate, sparkling, and very funny. One of my favorite events.

    Michael Moore

by Lesley555 on 10/16/10Morris Dailey Auditorium SJSU - San Jose

Learned a lot, laughed a lot, inspired to the point of revolution--you got our attention, Michael. Glad to hear the incredible tribute from Tom Steinbeck, what a fabulous man. We are retirees, but we spent a lot of money to fly up, to rent a hotel room, to eat out--but we wanted to see our hero--a truly courageous man who risks a lot to tell the truth. One academy award he was booed, the next appearance he got real respect because he was right the first time! Still right! Oh, he gave credit to his people, his mentors, to the people that email him ideas--good manners! Flint man!

    Wonderful, wise words

by CarollLynn on 10/16/10Morris Dailey Auditorium SJSU - San Jose

The only thing that went wrong was the event started about 45 minutes late with no explanation. I enjoyed this immensely and was grateful to finally see and hear Michael in person. He was witty, dealt with serious topics, and very inspiring. I felt honored to see him receive the important Steinbeck Award. A great evening.
