Theatre
This one-man fusion of theatre and stand-up is based on the New York Times #1 best-selling book of the last decade by John Gray. Moving swiftly through a series of vignettes, the show covers everything from dating and marriage to the bedroom but Men Are From Mars â Women Are From Venus LIVE! is more than just the book.
After beginning in Paris in 2007, Men are From MarsâWomen are From Venus LIVE! has been seen by more than one million people around Europe. It debuted in the United States in February 2013 in Raleigh, North Carolina and will be playing to audiences around the United States and Canada throughout the year.
When Mars and Venus collide, the adventures are earth-shatteringly hysterical! This show will have couples elbowing each other all evening.
Sexy and fast paced, this show is definitely for adults. Itâs a great recipe for a night out: a little storytelling blended with some comedy and a dash of sage wisdom from the book.

Not the show I expected - The one-man show "explained"classic male-female conflicts from the male perspective. Effort was also made to have inclusive dialog so that the intra-couple conflicts applied to couples of other structures. The auditorium was not full, but the audience members in the very front may have been uncomfortable with some of the dialog and choreography. Soundtrack was universally appreciated by the audience aged 21 to over 80. It is definitely an adults-only show. The edgy jokes ended at the uncomfortable or outrageous stage without completing the thought to funny.
I would attend another performance to discover the things that I missed in the first performance.
Most of audience was retired and had been married many years. They were aged beyond the subject presented. Many wanted to reminisce about the book they read in 1992. The speaker was a skilled actor but was unfamiliar with St. Louis. He asked if we had an IKEA and a COSTCO. He referred to this area as being "flat", and jokes referred to how flat our terrain was. We were interested in also seeing the Pageant Theatre. Next time, we have learned to not choose the folding chairs. However, we enjoyed the day and the light entertainment. Glad we went.
What a great time. We laughed from beginning to end 𤣠đ
There were some funny moments but it was a guy doing a show for other guys at the expense of women. It would have been better if there would have been a women comedian too so they could have played off of each other. I also expected it to be more about the book.
I was disappointed because I was expecting more scenarios from the actual book. The show was mostly about his relationship with his wife, and very little reference to the book. I was expecting a few more laughs than what we got.
We enjoyed getting out but I would not recommend this show to anyone. Material is dated. If it was supposed to be just a comedian doing a bit, it wasnât funny enough. If it was supposed to be marriage advice, it wasnât good for that. It was very secular. Not complimentary to wives or husbands. The videos of author John Gray made it seem like a sales pitch for an old book. I understand this performance is not unique to one performer. Time to let this script go.
There were three of us and we were not amused. The performer's jokes were lame and the voice that he used to quote his wife was annoying and mocking. Would have been much better with a man and woman representing their viewpoints.
.... it would have been much better with a man and a woman vs. only a man performing. I felt like it was one sided from the man's point of view. It did have some funny moments and the content has been updated somewhat. I don't think I'd seek it out to see again.
