About

Megadeth are a thrash metal band from Los Angeles. Formed in 1983 by guitarist Dave Mustaine, Megadeth have sold over 50 million records worldwide across 16 studio albums, received 13 Grammy nominations with one win and have been recognized as a member of the “Big Four” bands credited with establishing the American thrash metal genre along with Anthrax, Metallica and Slayer. Following the group’s 1985 debut Killing Is My Business... and Business Is Good!, Megadeth released five consecutive platinum albums including 1992’s Countdown to Extinction, which hit No. 2 on the Billboard 200 behind their Hot 100-charting single “Symphony of Destruction.” The group hit their highest chart placements since 1994’s Youthanasia with 2016’s Dystopia and 2022’s The Sick, The Dying... And The Dead!, which both debuted at No. 3 while the former’s title track netted Megadeth their first Grammy for Best Metal Performance.

    MEGADETH!!!

    by PaisleyPrincess on 1/30/24

Great show, and one that was louder than any Metallica gig. Dave didn’t disappoint, and neither did his snarl.

Best concert I've ever been to

by Jimmybiscuits on 10/8/23Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - Reno

I don't go to a lot of concerts but I was very excited to see Megadeth live. They did not disappoint, amazing guitar work, lively scream-singing, and the drums and bass were on point. Going into it as excited as i was I am surprised that they not only met my expectations but they exceeded them.

    BADASS

by Donna Summers on 10/8/23Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - Reno

I seen Megadeath back in 98, they are just as badass now as they were back then… Dave Mustaine is a legend. Also, I loved the venue, GSR is the best venue I’ve been too, there is not a bad seat in the house.

    Dave is a GOD

by Jay on 10/8/23Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - Reno

Dave can still put on a show and is there to give the fans what they want. He has amazing energy on stage and can still shred.

    Megadeth is the best

by Madoser on 10/8/23Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - Reno

They played all sorts of songs I’ve never heard live and I’ve been going to their shows since 92. Dave Mustaine is a beast.

    Peace Sells

by Tony Bagadonus on 10/8/23Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - Reno

Megadeth at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, NV, was pretty much what I expected out of it... A peaceful metal concert geared toward an older middle-aged crowd, and their families. Megadeth played all the favorites. The opening act- Biohazard- was good. The sound was great, but should have been louder for a metal concert. The venue was nice- I couldn't afford to go down to the pit, but there was barely any moshing anyway, the seats in the back were closer than they looked on ticketmaster. I tried unsuccessfully to sneak down into the pit several times, but there were plenty of open seats up front that were easy to upgrade into. The beer was relatively affordable (I think it was $10 for a "large"). The hotel was nice, but far from anything else, so it kept me a captive audience to their food and amenities since I took the bus into town, and the free shuttle from the airport to the hotel. The GSR has a bunch of good shows lined up, and I wouldn't be opposed to going again to something my wife and kids would want to join me for.
