    Seth & May Inspire

by Laurami on 11/13/11The Ark - Ann Arbor

This was a wonderful show. Seth and May had just gotten back from a trip to Ethiopia and had beautiful new songs to share with the audience. In addition to being great musicians, they are great storytellers and it was so fun to learn about how their trip inspired their creative process. They played two sets and both were fantastic!

The Ark + May and Seth = Amazing Music

by ActiveBob on 3/26/11The Ark - Ann Arbor

This was the best live music performance I have ever been to. The acoustics in the Ark are tailor made for May's voice. Seth has an amazing command of the guitar and makes it do things that are beautiful to listen to. Put them together, in the Ark and it was the best live music I've ever heard......and I've been listening to music in Seattle for since 1990. These two are reluctant superstars. The reluctant part comes from their political leanings and distaste for 'the man'. It comes through loud and clear in their music, but with talent like this, I don't know how they can stay under the radar very long in an age where amazing talent is shared with the world at light speed. They seem to have done a good enough job this far staying out of the limelight, but if they keep delivering performances like the one on Thursday at the Ark, they're going to have to find a liberal charity to donate to, because they're going to be rich and famous. Maybe they'll realize that they can get their message out further and wider if they decide to let 'the man' exploit them.........because their sound would touch mainstream America, no question.
