MATT KAZAM ON STAGE:
Comedy veteran Matt Kazam pairs his always-hilarious stand-up routines with truly insightful observations, and it works to brilliant, gut-busting effect in his latest show at the Riviera Comedy Club -- 40 Is Not The New 20. The New York native systematically exposes the 40/20 adage as fraudulent in a series of hilarious rants on everything from technology and politics to relationships, parenting, and even commuting. Kazam is in his forties himself, so when he balks at the notion that he's "the new 20", he's speaking from experience. With 25 years of stand-up under his belt, Kazam is an expert at working the crowd, and he always leaves ticket buyers in stitches with his keen observations, razor-sharp wit, and upbeat energy.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Matt Kazam was born and raised in New York City, where he began performing shows for friends and family as early as age three. He continued doing stand-up in college while earning a finance degree from George Mason University, and after graduating he turned to comedy full-time. During the '00s Kazam was active on the national comedy circuit and also appeared on numerous TV programs including NBC's Last Comic Standing and Comedy Central's Stand-Up Stand-Up. His easygoing charm and energetic delivery landed him on several high-profile comedy tours, including opening gigs for comedy heavyweights like Robin Williams, Chris Rock, and Drew Carey. In 2008 he released his debut comedy album Tice the Funny: Live in DC & Vegas. The recording portended Kazam's return to Vegas in 2014 for his one-man show 40 Is Not The New 20 -- a critically acclaimed production that has fans flocking to the Riviera Comedy Club to catch him in action.
Loved his show. It was really funny and "spot on" with our experiences as 40 somethings and likewise with our experiences as kids.
Excellent show. Matt jokes were right-on the mark. You'll laugh until tears come out. He is very funny.
Great show. Very funny, lots of energy. Hope another hotel picks him up after the Riviera closes!
Funny show, relatable without being overly raunchy
We had an amazing time watching his show! Our entire group of 9 ranged from 43-80 and we all were laughing! I highly recommend checking out this show!!! However, if you buy a package that includes drinks, please tell the host and you have to go downstairs to security to show ID and get a wristband. They did not tell us that until 5 minutes before the show started so many in our group missed the beginning. (But, that has nothing to do with Matt!!!)
Great evening full of laughs. Matt is witty, welcoming and makes time fly.
I thought Matt did a good job of interacting with the audience. He was funny, but I also thought she should have given more examples of things on the subject of 40 isn't the new 20. He could have also used a lot less cussing and still gotten the points across.
He was funny, he not a seinfeld but he has a lot of funny material.
This was a taping for his Showtime special. I did't really know Matt going into the show and I was pleasantly surprised at how good he was. All I can say is "Mac n Cheese m*f* give me some Mac n Cheese!"
