Masque of the Red Death Tickets

Overall I was very disappointed by this event. The psychic readers were terrible, they literally laid out a few cards and told the same thing to everyone. It only lasted less than five minutes, and not everyone that paid got to get a reading because you had to sign up in advance. Also, as I was getting food from the buffet, workers came and took the food away without even saying anything, as I was reaching for it. When they revealed the death on stage, I couldn't see or hear anything. The event was way too crowded, there should have been some type of a cap on it. Not worth the 90 dollar ticket price (yes that is the price you pay after all of the fees). Also bar tenders were rude. We didn't even see the entertainment (fire and sword) because apparently it only happened for a little bit outside of the venue. Not coming back.

The Masque Of The Red Death Halloween Event had a nice atmosphere and was well attended. Not too crowded and most of the people dressed in the theme costumes. The entertainment was appropriate for the evening. The only problems were at the bar and hors d’oeuvres stations. The lines at the bar were long at times and they were frequently temporarily out of stock on some of the alcohol. The hors d’oeuvres stations had very long line throughout the night. The food was average at best, some of it was pretty bad. It was nice to try once but for $75 per person I expected more.

Attended for the first time this year, and couldn't have had a better time. The crowd was festive and very diverse, and there to enjoy themselves. The food by Moe's was delicious, and the food stations were well supplied all evening. There were several bars located throughout the Civic, and the wait was never more than a few minutes. We went with the full bar package, and they had all our favorite brands as well as ice cold beer. When the dancing started on the main stage, they opened a bar in the orchestra pit that came in very handy. Very creative costumes by many of the guests, and a few went black tie with excellent Venetian masks. Hopefully, one of the new hotels planned for downtown will be open by next year..that would make it perfect! See you next year, great job Civic Theater!
