Martin Lawrence on Tour
Martin Lawrence may always have a place in Hollywood movies and on TV screens, but it's clear where he feels most at home: on stage. That's where he truly gets to showcase a comedic sensibility that's raw, unpredictable, and totally unbridled. One of 2018's most hilarious comedy events, the LIT AF Tour is a testament to the prowess and energy that Lawrence has demonstrated as a stand-up ever since he first showed what he could do at The Improv, the legendary New York comedy club that launched Richard Pryor, Jerry Seinfeld, and countless other greats.
Pryor was a big hero for Lawrence as a young performer, who came to comedy and acting after displaying great promise as a boxer. Born in Frankfurt, Germany, on a U.S. army base, he grew up in several cities in the U.S. before moving to New York in the mid-1980s to break into comedy. His raucous sets soon led to a spot on âStar Search' and movies including âHouse Party' and âDo the Right Thing.' In 1992, Russell Simmons chose him to host âDef Comedy Jam,' the groundbreaking HBO series that fostered a new wave of black comedians. That same year, his sitcom âMartin' began its five-year run on Fox, becoming one of the network's highest rated shows.
He found just as much success on the big screen with hit comedies like âNothing to Lose,' âBlue Streak,' and the âBig Momma's House' franchise. He'd also set new standards for mayhem in âBad Boys' and âBad Boys II,' his action-comedy blockbusters with Will Smith and director Michael Bay. Yet even during his rise to full-fledged movie stardom, he never left the stage for long. The concert films âYou So Crazy' and âMartin Lawrence Live: Runteldat' proved he'd lost none of his edge as a stand-up act.
Two years after his successful headlining tour Doin' Time: Uncut Live, he returns to slay audiences all over again with the LIT AF Tour. This time, however, he's brought some friends. With Lawrence serving as host much like he did way back in the day on âDef Comedy Jam,' the LIT AF Tour presents an array of veteran and emerging talents. Changing from city to city, the lineup of acts includes Jay Pharaoh, J.B. Smoove, Adele Givens, Rickey Smiley, and Clayton Thomas. Of course, with Martin Lawrence around, you know who'll run the show no matter who's there.

I had a good time the lineup was awesome đ everyone was great
Great show , terrific line up , started on time ! A must see . DJ was phenomenal!
Dissatisfaction was the seating was to cramp. Needed arm room to eat and some people are much larger than other you are required to sit next to.
Non-stop laughing. So glad I went. Good setup. Good seats
Every comedian was funny! Bruce Bruce stole the show!! I would definitely go back again because I'm sure I missed a few jokes while I was laughing so hard!! đ¤Ł
The show was good, funny, nice. I wish Martin would of done a little more talking/performing. Maybe also get one or two more comedians to perform. But in all a good show.
Taking nothing from the comedians who performed that night, Martin Lawrence's onstage time was all of 10 MAYBE 15 minutes. Was hoping it'd be more than just that.
The show was good and the venue is fine. Sound could be better. Louder and more clear.
Although I would've liked to see and hear more Martin jokes his invited cast was good. As far as the arena, perfect venue. Similar to universal amphitheater. Any seat is really a good seat. Great show!
