Marshall Crenshaw at The Alex Theater

by Chibik on 2/13/24Alex Theatre - Glendale

Marshall Crenshaw absolutely killed it. Played songs covering his 40+ year career. Nothing better than live music. Every time he plays in the Los Angeles area we are there. The Alex theater is a fantastic venue to see any performers. No bad seats in the house.

    Great show

by surferboy on 2/13/24Alex Theatre - Glendale

I loved the opening act, Jill Sobule. Marshall Crenshaw was great. My only criticism of Marshall was that the instruments were MUCH TOO LOUD. They drowned out his voice and the vocals. The ALEX THEATRE is a really super venue to watch a show.

Great show. Great songs. Great atmosphere.

Marshall’s band truly rocked. Sounded great. Brought back great memories. Love the storytelling and connections with others in the music industry. Birchmere atmosphere was great. Great view of stage.

    Great, but...

by Gordo on 10/4/23Birchmere - Alexandria

I love Marshall's music, songwriting, melodies, it's all there. And his band is tight. But, his voice shows the signs of aging. As long as you don't expect his John Lennon-esque vice anymore you will have a good time.

    Great music, fun concert.

by MMS on 10/4/23Birchmere - Alexandria

Loved hearing the music from Marshall Crenshaw. The Birchmere was a great venue for this concert. Easy to get to, park, etc. making me more likely to look for other artists appearing there.

    High noon saloon

    by PMo on 7/19/23

The music was good!! However, I was very distracted during the entire show. The venue has the chairs so close together. It’s worse than being in an airplane. The concert was not very crowded. There was plenty of room to move the chairs apart so your fellow concert goers were not so squashed. And yes… I could have gotten up and moved. But I came early and had a front row seat that I didn’t want to give up.

    Awesome Show

by 80sGirl4Sure on 3/5/19The Wonder Bar - Asbury Park

This was an awesome show which started out with The Bottle Rockets and then Marshall Crenshaw with The Bottle Rockets. These artists were excellent performers. Their music is outstanding and I really enjoyed the show. It was a night of great music.

    Awesome

by Tballs on 3/5/19The Wonder Bar - Asbury Park

Loved the show. Marshall and The Bottle Rockets rock. Couple of deeper cuts/covers I could have done without, with some Bobby Fuller thrown in their place, but a satisfying show all around.

Great music but no need for pre film

by googookajoob on 4/26/17Paramount Theatre - Asbury Park

Unknown to anyone there the venue played the Movie "Imagine" prior to the concert- its a good enough movie (Although dated with a white washed image of Lennon) but was sure everyone there had already seen it and just wanted to hear music like myself. Post movie I only had about 30 mins before I had to go meet the family so I was able to see the band play about 6 songs. Marshall looked like he was really having fun ,gave some great vocals and backed up by most of the Weeklings it sounded as good as you get. It would have been great to see Glenn Burnick (also a member of the Weeklings) play with Marshall for a original cast of Beatlemania reunion but Glenn was not there - bummer. Great job APMFF but next time provide better details on the itinerary.

    Exceptional Show.

    by CheeryFella3 on 8/23/16Birchmere - Alexandria

Marshall hasn't seemed so loose, relaxed, and happy on stage in years. A trio approach has always suited him and his Dylan and Animals covers were especially great.
