    Taking Care of Business!

by ChasingSammee on 10/17/10Webster Hall - New York

One word. DOPE! Mark Ronson & The Business INTL. KILLED last night at Webster Hall in the Village. This two level venue was swarming with roaring fans loosing themselves in each & every song. Tunes from all over the shop were played – Circuit Breaker, Just, Lose It (In The End), Ooh Wee, Oh My God, California, The Night Last Night, DJ Set, Bump / Race Riot, Introducing the Business, Sparrow / Fade To Black, Bang Bang Bang, God Put A Smile, Hey Boy, You Gave Me Nothing, Stop Me, Record Collection & for the grand finale The Bike Song & Valerie. The Business INTL is made up of Amanda Werner aka MNDR (loving her nerdy chic style & minimal-techno electro-pop sound), Alex Greenwald of Phantom Planet, Spank Rock (Naeem), Pill and Rose Elinor Dougall (a vintage style queen with an angelic voice). Bleach-blond ingenious uber-producer, Mark Ronson may have assembled this motley crew but they all took turns at the mic sharing duets & lead vocals. It was almost like watching a group of friends jamming out at a house party. And if that wasn’t enough throw in Q-Tip on Bang Bang Bang & Marsha Ambrosius (former member of Floetry, you know the Songstress) on Valerie to turn an already floor shaking show into an electrifying experience. Oh what a night! I fell in love with music & live shows all over again…

    Mark Ronson is the future

by TheSir on 10/16/10Webster Hall - New York

Mark is a maestro. The performance was stellar taking us through favorites new and old and the surprise cameos by Spank Rock, MNDR, Q-Tip, and Marsha Ambrosius of Floetry only added to an already amazing set. Francis and the Lights (think awesome mix of Prince and Phil Collins with better dance moves than any white guy you've ever seen) as the opening special treat was shear icing on the cake.

    Ronson Rocks

by Whatupdom on 10/15/10Webster Hall - New York

The opening act was one of the worst I've ever seen. The Francis group was pretty good. Ronson was great.

    Ronson means business

by WestEggGatsby on 10/14/10Webster Hall - New York

Not gonna make this one lengthy but know this - Ronson means business. I didn't expect a SHOW, i expected a DANCE PARTY. After all, he's a DJ/producer right? I've seen GirlTalk and a bunch of other DJ/Producers. Their shows are usually not too visual or involved... they just set the mood and the bring the energy. Ronson did all of the above. With guests like Q-Tip, Spank Rock, MNDR, and many more, it was hard to take your eyes off the stage, and even harder to stop dancing.

Mark Ronson is talented & his collaborations are impressive. The business international need a little polishing. Overall, though, great show with good energy

    terrible

by eyell on 10/14/10Webster Hall - New York

Openers were awful and went on for much too long; huge waiting gap between openers and the main act; sound mix was TERRIBLE especially given how long they spent sound checking everything. Too bass heavy, midrange was completely muddled and the highs were entirely lost. The saddest part is how much I was looking forward to enjoying this beforehand, as Ronson is a favorite of mine, but between the venue and the sound and the acts and the setup it was just a mess.

    eehhh

by colsblog on 10/14/10Webster Hall - New York

the opening act was so bad. a white indie band trying to replicate the sound of prince but with a terrible voice. felt like it went on forever. also they allowed one of the chicks in the business international to sing a whole song by herself despite having a horrible voice. not sure what that's about. don't like to complain because i love love love most everything ronson does. it was a bummer to experience a less than awesome show right here in NYC.
