Margaret Atwood was fascinating. Samantha Bee did a great job keeping the audience engaged.
Friday night’s galore Atwood’s tale’s delight Bees asks, is, a bore Bee is, was, a fright.
Margaret Atwood was spectacular!! Loved her so much. Seeing her was #1 on my Bucket List. I cannot believe I actually got to see her in person :) As excited as I was to see her, that is how disappointed I was when the man interviewing her forgot that we were NOT there to see HIM!! HE TALKED WAYYYYY TOOOOO MUCH!! It was so frustrating sitting there listening to him talk on and on and on, while Margaret Atwood sat listening like we were. I'm sure that everyone was thinking the same thing..."Would someone tell this guy to SHUT UP already!?!" He was there to promote his own books; REALLY???!!! This was a huge mistake in the planning of this event. I understand that having a fellow author is probably good to have as interviewer since they can empathize with the good and bad moments of writing, but he was so egotistical that he wanted the attention on himself. NOT GOOD!!!
At one hour of "conversation", and a half hour of questions and answers, the evening seemed a bit thin for the price of the ticket.
I paid to listen to Margaret Atwood. What I got was a bit of her, and then a lot of Roger Rosenblatt and Guilford College promotions. Too much fluff and too little substance. Disappointing.
Margaret was bright, witty and energetic. I enjoyed her down to earth, humility and grace. I haven't read her books but my wife has. I'm inspired to pick up one now.
Margaret Atwood's dry wit and humour was entertaining as well as enlightening. Her comments on inspiration and attitude transcend to all creative fields. Hopefully her attention to detail and clarification will influence her young audience, who seem to be seeking solutions and professional direction.
Margaret Atwood was very entertaining. She was very humorous, but also enlightening about her books. If I have any criticism, it would be that her talk could have been a little longer - not a common complaint with most speakers!
I had a wonderful evening with a wonderful author who delights as well in the spoken word as in the written word. Entertainment and education in one small package, who could ask for more?
