The presentation in Steampunk was brilliant and I am a Shakespeare junkie! I loved this interpretation.

Good production to bring neophytes -

by notlikely on 10/4/16Lincoln Theatre - COLUMBUS

MacBeth in 1 hour. This production was not billed as being edited for young audiiences. Admired the actors some of whome were doing 3 or 4 parts, moving the scenery, working with minimal props, but the rush also stole some of the humor and occasionally coherence from the performance. Yes, some of the speed was more true to Elizabethan productions as was the minimalist staging and even doubling of parts, but it was still too fast.

Macbeth was worse than a high school play

by Princessmarino on 2/16/16Wells Metz Theatre - Bloomington

-there was a railing in our way the entire play.. -no props at all.... -the acting was bad. -the production was bad. -the whole show was terrible. This is what I had to hear from my parents who I bought the tickets for... I thought it would at least be decent. & my mother who loves plays said it was the worst one she's ever saw. & ive been in plays sense kindergarten.. So it's worse than a kindergarten play. I've never have anything one star before but this deserves it.

    Macbeth "The Best Ever"

    by CharlesA1 on 8/12/13Ewing Manor - Normal

After years of attending the Festival, this presentation of Macbeth was by far the best production we have ever witnessed at Ewing Manor. From the settings,to the lighting, to the acting this play would have had the Bard smiling from ear to ear. Hats off to everyone involved. Thank you all for another marvelous season!

    Macbeth blew my mind!

    by JAKennedy13 on 7/27/13Ewing Manor - Normal

The actors portrayed the suffering of these characters exquisitely. After the show, a Q & A session was offered with the actors and director. It really helped put the play into context.

    Most excellent enactment of Macbeth

by MidwestMaggie on 7/21/13Ewing Manor - Normal

Excellent decision to move to inside venue. We could focus on play and actors themselves instead of externals. Leads were superb, absolutely superb in their roles. Others very good. Timing as well as stage/costume/lighting/"orchestra" excellent. Truly enhanced plot and dramatic atmosphere. Extremely well done!!

excellent production of Macbeth. the acting was outstanding. a little disappointing that play was moved indoors due to hot weather. looking forward to seeing a future production in open sky venue.

    Macbeth is powerful

by esmis on 7/17/13Ewing Manor - Normal

The Shakespeare festival is a great summer tradition. Great opportunity to have a nice picnic in a beautiful setting and then enjoy the play in the outdoor theater. I recommend all these events and this venue for a wonderful summer experience. This year we had the added delight of absolutely PERFECT weather.
