MMR*B*Q in Concert

Join Philadelphia's rock authority for an all-day concert featuring big names and hot up-and-comers at MMR*B*Q. Riff-heavy experimentalists Shinedown and goth-rockers Evanescence head this year's lineup of bands at the BB&T Pavilion.

Shinedown's crushing "Devil," from their 2018 album Attention Attention, was Billboard's No. 2 Mainstream Rock song of 2018, while tracks like the brooding "Second Chance" and the electro-tinged "Cut the Cord" have defined 21st-century guitar music. Evanescence, led by defiant belter Amy Lee, re-emerged in 2018 with Synthesis Live, which showcased orchestral reimaginings of hits like "Bring Me to Life" and "My Immortal."

The rest of the MMR*B*Q lineup is chock full of exciting bands. That includes British rockers The Struts, who have updated glam-rock's outrageous styles and huge hooks for the streaming-music era. Their 2018 sophomore album Young & Dangerous swaggered its way into critics' hearts.

Fozzy, which celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2019, spotlights the over-the-top charisma and heavyweight pipes of wrestling superstar Chris Jericho. Metal supergroup Bad Wolves, which features Snot vocalist Tommy Vext, hit No. 1 on the Mainstream Rock chart with their storming cover of The Cranberries' "Zombie" in 2018. And Canadian quintet The Glorious Sons will bring their Juno-winning 2017 album Young Beauties and Fools to the BB&T Pavilion stage.

Rock legend Joan Jett will perform hits like "I Love Rock & Roll" and "I Hate Myself for Loving You" with her long-running band The Blackhearts. And the day kicks off with Siravo, the Philly quartet who have been tagged as this year's Jaxon Local Shots opener. The four-piece released their latest album, The Restless & the Mad, in September 2018, and its chugging riffs and hard-hitting cover of Chicago's "25 or 6 to 4" helped make them Jaxon's Local Shots Artist of the Month that month.

Tickets for MMR*B*Q are general admission for the first portion of the show, while seats for the four headlining bands will be assigned. Please note this when selecting your ticket.

    Great experience

by Smallfry on 9/25/23Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - Camden

This was my first MMRBQ. I didn't know what to expect since I've been to other large events at this venue and they weren't all great. This event was so well organized. Most people were on their best behavior. I didn't have a single drunk person step on me! Bands were awesome! A little pricey but I had the best time with friends!

    Perfect day

by Emm on 9/24/23Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - Camden

Plenty of space to gather. Lots of bathrooms and wait not too long for women. Didn’t need the extra ticket for River deck for the MMRBBQ bc we didn’t really use it although for another event it might be worth it. Also maybe renting the chairs would be worth taking a break from sitting on the lawn in the future. Also, their policy says you have to bring in standard size towels and small baby packs and clear bags, but I saw many many people who had large blankets and large clear bags bigger than and not the dimensions posted on the site. I was a little salty about that since I had to cram all of my belongings small fanny pack. But not I know!

    Fantastic

The MMRBQ line up was fantastic. Shinedown always puts on such a great performance. I would recommend everyone going to this. So good. Although I think I missed the BBQ part of the concert. Definitely didn’t see any good BBQ being offered in the lobby.

    Great Venue for a show

by AE on 9/21/23Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - Camden

This is one of the better indoor/outdoor venues to see a concert. The ability to be both outdoors and (depending on your tickets of course) indoors to see a show. The sound system is usually spot on, as I have been here multiple times over the years and really do not recall having a show that had a bad sound system. The weather can be a factor for sure, as the lawn portion is exposed to the elements and there aren't options for you if the weather does not agree with your event. The food and beverage options are standard for what you could/should expect for a concert venue. If the weather is to your liking, this is a really nice place to see a show. The view of Philly across the water is really a nice addition both day and night.

This show was fantastic! The event was perfectly laid out and kept exactly to schedule which made it stress free for breaks for the restroom, eating and drinks.

    Concert goer

by Karl on 9/20/23Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - Camden

Just went for Idol and Shinedown. First time I've ever been in the pit in this arena. Before going, I thought it might be cramped. I was surprised how much free space I had. Show was awesome.

    Good day but expensive

by Beth on 9/20/23Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - Camden

Bands were good. Venue charges too much for food, drink and parking.

Worth the $25 ticket price. Wouldn't pay more though

by PhillyJosh on 9/20/23Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - Camden

2 out of 5 stars. They really need to sign on different artists. Shinedown seem to have headlined for a number of years now... This will prob be my last mmrbq unless they make some drastic changes. Oh, and why not actually feature bbq? burgers, dogs etc, It only seems fitting. Add a second stage with upcoming bands ... This fest could be so much more than it is.
