MKTO IN CONCERT:
Actors-turned-musicians MKTO are taking over airwaves around the world with their smash hit “Classic”. They’re also taking over stages with their undeniable skills: Tony Oller captivates the audience with his powerful crooning while Malcolm Kelley spits fast flows, and they couldn't sound better together. BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Hailing from Los Angeles, MKTO members Tony Oller and Malcolm Kelley met in 2010 when they played best friends on the television show Gigantic and instantly hit it off off screen. The two shared a mutual love for music and began collaborating and performing together under their initials MKTO. After spending a few years honing their craft, the pair released their 2013 breakout single “Thank You” which earned over 500,000 YouTube views within 48 hours and placed them on the to pop radar overnight. They followed up with the radio-friendly hit “Classic” – a gold-certified track that peaked at No. 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. MKTO’s 2014 self-titled debut generated significant buzz after topping the charts in Australia and securing a Top 40 spot in the US – a huge feat for the music industry newcomers. Since then they’ve opened for major acts like Emblem3 and Demi Lovato, and they continue to gain legions of new fans at their thrilling live shows.
I love MKTO! I have been following these two for a long time now since they were acting on television. When I heard they were coming together as a music group, I was really excited. They are amazing live and I will definitely recommend it the the people that love to dance and have a good time. But then again, thats any concert. MKTO is awesome!
This was my fourth time attending an MKTO show and it was absolutely amazing as usual!! I love that Malcolm and Tony always do some new covers and originals but each show I've gone to has been different so I never really know what to expect and I love it.
I saw MKTO in December of 2014 and they were incredible. I did a VIP meet and greet before the show and it was awesome. They are both such nice guys! The only thing I would change about the concert would be to be a little bit faster in between sets. (It was like, "opening act 1, 20 minute intermission, opening act 2, 30 minute intermission and then more waiting and then they finally came out.) As far as their performance goes, it was fantastic! Their vocals were great and they constantly tried to keep the crowd fired up. Not many groups come to Maine often, and I was so excited when MKTO did. I will definitely be seeing them again.
Solid location, and good pricing. Not my type of concert, though. Far too many teenage girls screening at nothing astonishing. MKTO has a few hit songs for young teens, and their on stage performance wasn't anything to gloat about. Mostly just singing into the microphone and walking around. Not choreographed at all. Boring. Watch their music videos, the entertainment value is higher.
the venue was too small for the loudness of the music, loud to a point of distortion,DJ they had between sets was terrible and super loud ,people walking around with fingers in ears best show of nite was alex preston ,sound not so loud and every word could be understood
The concert was worth the $20 for the Maine Youth Rock Orchestra and Alex Preston. MKTO (when they FINALLY came on stage) was terrible. The mics were SO loud that you couldn't understand a word they said. My kids, who were super excited to see them, asked to leave after their fourth song.
I had VIP tickets and it was awesome! They are so nice and really know how to get a crowd going! I love that it was at Stage AE because it is such a small venue! I WOULD DEFINITELY BUY TICKETS AGAIN!!! :)
I was really surprised by how good both of the opening acts were. I had never heard of either of them but they were both amazing! MKTO is one of those groups who really are as good in concert as they are on their record! They kept the energy level high and sounded absolutely amazing. The only bad thing was that sometimes the pillars blocked the view, and you were constantly shifting around because people kept moving. There weren't any chairs, just standing room, which hurts your feet after that long.
MKTO was amazing!!!! Action Item opened up and they're such great dudes!!! Tiffany Houghton also was fun and perky! But what a night!! MKTO killed it - such amazing dudes!!
This is the third time we've seen MKTO, and the first time we were able to meet them. Absolutely amazing!!!! Can't wait to see them again!!! Not overly impressed with Tiffany Houghton. However, Action Item is terrific!!
