This was probably the best show I have ever been to. If you ever have a chance to see Drink Up Buttercup live, do it. Maps and Atlases were amazing, but I expected that. Afortiori was also pretty freaking epic, but again, I have heard great things of them, so I was expecting them to be awesome.

by lennon1230 on 4/12/10The Basement - ColumbusIf you haven't heard of Maps & Atlases let me be the first to tell you they are one of best and most original bands playing today. They playing super intricate technical music in an accessable and incredibly listenable way. They have catchy melodies and riffs that make my sister like it, and complex rhythms and beats that make my drummer go nuts. They pull off their well honed sound incredibly well live for having just a standard quartet set up. They are rapidly gaining fans so if you'd like to see this band before there are a few hundred people standing in front of you, I'd recommend seeing them ASAP. You wont be disappointed.
