    Amazing Date Night

by KaraokeDiva on 9/4/15Washington Park - Cincinnati

Husband and I were lucky enough to have our names drawn to buy tickets to this year's event and we jumped on it. I was happy to pay what I considered to be a relatively small fee ($18 per person) to keep the event going and the number of people down from the year prior, and the event was worth far more than we actually paid. Parking note: We parked in a garage on Vine Street in OTR and walked over to the park and the cost was $10 (we normally pay $5 for that particular garage). The garage under the park was already full by 5:00 and, quite frankly, not worth the extra cost (I think it was $15?) or the stress of getting in and out around the crowds of other vehicles and pedestrians. I'd recommend sucking it up and walking a couple of blocks. The gates opened at 4:00 and we got there shortly after 5:00 to establish our seats - while there were a lot of people there already with chairs in place, there was still a lot of great space remaining to be claimed at that time, and we got seats right in the middle of the venue, about 40 yards from the bandstand - we didn't have the clearest view of the orchestra over the crowd (they were fairly low - and you really don't need to see them), but we had a perfect view of Music Hall for the gorgeous lights. After setting up our seats, we headed out to one of the great nearby restaurants for dinner and enjoyed chilling out for a couple of hours before heading back to the venue to check on our chairs, which were untouched - people were very respectful of one another's property. By the time we wandered back in around 7:30, though, the park was quite full and there were a lot of people sitting behind trees and tents with partially blocked views, so I'd recommend getting there early. We wandered around 'the village' for a while and carried a couple of the Glow beers back into the venue with us for the show. The show was absolutely incredible - it started with the Pops, whom we are huge fans of, playing a great set (no dancers the night we were there, as it had been raining most of the day, and the stage was quite slippery - luckily the rain had stopped by showtime). Then after 20-30 minute intermission, the CSO came out and the light show began. Amazing! I can't say enough about, or even begin to describe in words, how beautiful it was musically and visually. It's an event like this that makes you appreciate what a wonderful city for the arts that Cincinnati truly is. If we're lucky enough to get tickets to next year's event, we will definitely go again.

This was our first time attending Lumenocity. As cool as it is to watch on tv, it doesn't compare to experiencing it in person. Everything about the event seemed very well organized. The symphony is something that my wife and I both enjoy but don't get to experience as much as we'd like. The added bonus of visiting the still newish Washington Park and the incredible visual components that accompanied the performance made it a great experience. Overall, I cannot recommend this event enough. If you have the chance to experience Lumenocity in person, it is my opinion that you are doing yourself a disservice if you choose to decline.

Had a great view of a tree!

by wouldhavbetterviewatKrogr on 8/26/15Washington Park - Cincinnati

This is my third year attending; I was looking forward to an amazing event because the past has been great and (because my tickets were $18.00 each). I was told to sit with my family at the water park and the only view I had was of a tree. I tried to get up and move twice but was told I could not stand in an aisle. The music was great, as always, but would rather pay money to have a seat. Very disappointing not to see the light show. Will not return in the future.

    fantastic show

by blacksparrow on 8/19/15Washington Park - Cincinnati

Still too crowded--people were moving each others chairs. Some were hostile. Fantastic show from start to finish. I loved the inclusion of all the "arts".

Not as good as last year

    by General2235 on 8/18/15Washington Park - Cincinnati

The overall show was creative but some of the images were too detailed to be projected on Music Hall. The symphony was excellent but the choice of what was played was disappointing. The last piece was putting some people to sleep and that's when people should have been energized by what was being projected on Music Hall. Everyone in our group was disappointed and felt that the overall presentation was not as good as last year.

Makes me proud to live in Cincy!

by Anonymous on 8/17/15Washington Park - Cincinnati

I've been to this event all three years and it just keeps getting better! This year focused on Cincinnati, with Rheingeist producing a special brew for a it and the entire closing number being a tribute to Cincy. It really is a showcase of how great the music and art of this city is and is a must see for anyone in the area.

Lumenocity shines despite the cool cloudy day

by SissyGrace on 8/16/15Washington Park - Cincinnati

The changes made to the venue for this year's show made the experience more enjoyable. Not near as stressful finding a spot to sit and we felt much safer throughout the event. The show was brilliant! We loved that Cincinnati was the highlight. As always the music was world-class.

    Fantastic show

by delhifan on 8/15/15Washington Park - Cincinnati

We went to Lumenocity for the first time Thursday night. Even with a slight drizzle prior to the show, we had a great time at the Village. Plenty to eat and drink and the tours in Music Hall were good also. The actual show was unbelievable. The display on Music Hall was fabulous and the music was very precise to the movements on Music Hall. I hope they bring the show back. It was so good seeing the sites of Cincinnati on the giant "screen".

Unique event - great evening festivities!

by fromsouthwestohio on 8/13/15Washington Park - Cincinnati

Arriving early is important to getting good seats for the show. With that in place, time to enjoy the festivities and dinner at Lumenocity Village is just great. A good feeling in the crowd, great music from both the Pops and CSO, and a very special light show choreographed to the music make for a great evening out. This was a dress rehearsal, however, so there were a few stops and starts, but that was to be expected. Would definitely go again!

    Lumenocity always unforgettable

by Maggiegert on 8/12/15Washington Park - Cincinnati

It is a wonderful event that really shows us how lucky we are to have the CSO and POPS. Just made a day of the event. Enjoyed touring music hall. So glad that we are subscribers to the symphony.
