Ludovico Einaudi on Tour

An Italian pianist whose luscious, minimalist tunes have captured the world's attention, Ludovico Einaudi has enjoyed a lauded career full of pensive music and thrilling, worldly adventures. After finishing his music studies in Milan, Einaudi has traveled extensively, premiering works at the Tanglewood Music Festival, Lincoln Center, UCLA and Teatro alla Scala. In the early ‘10s, he toured the U.S. and Canada for In a Time Lapse, appearing on various radio shows. Einaudi has a rich tradition of recording and releasing live concerts, from his La Scala Concert 03.03.03 to 2009's Live in Prague and 2010's Royal Albert Hall Concert. Additionally, he's participated in many iTunes Festival recordings, including multiple shows in London and a 2019 release from Milan's Piazza Liberty. In a live setting, fans of Einaudi's contemporary classical catalog find themselves transfixed when he and his small band of well-rehearsed instrumentalists take the stage. An aura of mystery (think moody lighting and smoky effects) often accompanies the evocative, sprawling compositions, full of gentle arpeggios and circular chord sequences.

Ludovico Einaudi in Concert

Born in 1955 in Turin, Piedmont, Einaudi was raised in a highly artistic household — his father was a publisher of novels, while his mother was a pianist. The young Einaudi learned piano and guitar, beginning to compose at a young age. In his teens, he trained at the Conservatorio Verdi in Milan, eventually studying with the famed Italian postmodernist Luciano Berio. Graduating from school and premiering works everywhere from Italy to Los Angeles, Einaudi embarked on a successful recording career with Decca Records. He released his first solo piano album, Le Onde, in 1996 to much acclaim, eventually being certified gold in Italy. 2004's Una mattina would prove to be his big breakthrough, charting in Italy and Belgium and going gold in Italy again. 2009's Nightbook used synthesizer sounds to create an atmospheric vibe that built on his repetitive structures, poppy strings and percussion, and playful melodies. 2013's In a Time Lapse was among his most successful records, charting in over 10 countries and going platinum in the Netherlands, silver in the UK and gold in Italy. Einaudi is also well-known for his film scores, which have earned him many distinctions, including Best Soundtrack at the Italian Music Awards, and even an Oscar nomination.

I love Ludovico Einaudi. I was so happy he was returning to Dallas again. His concerts are always an immersive experience with this soft beautiful music that completely fills you and touches all the corners of your heart. Nice venue, plenty of parking and before the concert refreshments were great.

Great concert, the venue can do better

by AnnaT on 4/11/23Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

This was incredible show! I love the music, the performance, great concert! My only problem is that chairs in Music Hall were so squeaky. Every time someone had to move, it made this terrible noise, it was non stop from everywhere around. Very disturbing and ruins the whole experience. Hope, it will be fixed.

    Well Worth It

by Brookegetti21 on 4/9/23Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

He played for over 2 hours, and even was kind enough to hold the show off some untill everyone could be seated. He truly loves the music he plays. He shows what a kind heart he has by taking the time to personally clap for each of the men who help him on cello, violin, and percussion. The songs are much much better live. Buy the ticket - you wont regret it. BUT be cautious of the venue you choose (Music at Fair Park - Dallas ) As for attending the concert at this location they 100% did NOT enforce their no images or recording rules. I am not one to complain about images being taken around me, but whenever they are using their flash it is hard to ignore. The entire 2.5 hours i saw at least 20 flashes on all levels. They did not do well assisting people quitely to their sears between songs either. The entire time I had to hyper focus on Ludivico himself in an attempt to ignore the distractions no one took control over. They need employees who care more about vistor and artist experiences.

Those beautiful textures, the driving rhythms, the climactic infusions, the soft wisps of notes, the beauty, the courage, the hope! Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!

A fantastic evening very well spent

by Cathy on 4/8/23Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

It was a wonderful performance by a pianist I have enjoyed listening to and playing the music of for years. As a musician myself, I have very much enjoyed his works, how, as a rule, Einaudi is not afraid to play well beyond the typical chordal progressions. His creative, free-flowing "minimalism" leaves room for exploration - and he does this so very well. Having been to and performed in hundreds of concerts, I still felt to tell my husband after this evening that, if I never go to another concert, I will be very happy! Thank you, Ludovico Einaudi!

    Rude audience and bad venue

by Anna on 4/8/23Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

The artist was incredible, but the venue and the audience were not. Not only were people constantly moving around and ushers continued to shine flashlights to guide people to their seats, but most of the show was meant to be pitch black, and the audience continued to take flash pictures throughout. It is such a bummer because the artist did an incredible job. But the venue let the audience be disruptive the entire show and it really took away from the experience. I wish it had been run like a musical, where people know to not get up and would not take pictures, let alone flash pictures in the pitch dark. I will not go to another concert at that venue. The show started late and people disrupted the entire time. I loved the artist but the experience at the venue is the reason for the bad review.
