Show-yes! VIP-no!
by disneyfanmominChicago on 10/11/10Chicago theater - ChicagoThis show is great. They do all the favorite songs, and the performances are enthusiastic and fun. While the VIP gets you great seats in the front 5 rows, the after party was a huge let-down. First, the good. If you're in the "pit," you have a good chance of an encounter with Biz Markie or one of the characters. There's a lot of high fives and stuff from the stage your child can be a part of. The after party, however was pretty weak. You pay a huge upcharge for the opportunity to have a photo taken w/ the costumed characters-NOT including DJ Lance or Biz Markie. And you don't get to really interact w/ the characters at that. It's a quick photo, then you're on your way. They had trays of sandwiches and fruit and bottled water, a few toys out for the kids to play with, but it wasn't the party atmosphere I was anticipating. No dancing, no character interaction, no meet and greet. They had a table set up to purchase souveniers so you can avoid the long merchandise lines, but if your child is anything like mine, she wanted the stuff before the show, not after, so we were stuck in a long line anyway. It was a long line to get into the party, then to have the photo taken, but then it was just really crowded and difficult to find a place to sit and eat your roast beef roll.
