Music was the main interest, Los Van Van and Havana d' Primera will always get 5 stars from me, they are 2 of the BEST Cuban bands out there, but the event started too late, and people lost their energy after a while. I can understand "some" delay, but not 2.5 hours. Overall, it was a great experience because of the quality of the bands
It was a really nice experience. I am so thankful for promoting and presenting Cuban music in USA!! Great music is always welcome especially when it is from our native country!!! The show was very special from the beginning, and the venue was great, too!!
Both Havana de Prmwra and Los Van Van were amazing. Their performances were worth every dollar!
First off. This would have gotten 5 stars except it started 2 hours late. The venue was different but still suited for this type of event with plenty of seating as well as floor area to dance. The sound system was fine but not well miked for some of the instruments (brass section). Habana de Premera with Alex Abreau set the pace, with "Timba" music that reverberated with the crowd and played for roughly 2 hours, Los Van Van were clean, forceful, and rhythmic as they played hits and new material. The night was dampened by political protest which has no bearing on the music. All in All a Great Concert!
Los Van Van and Havana D’Primera together on stage is a dream come true. The true essence of Cuban timba for all to dance to and celebrate together. I hope this is not the last time I witness such magic and collaboration by Cuban bands. Bring them back, bring them together, bring every Cuban band that wants to play to a welcoming public.
Doors opened late at the Center, although it was organized, well staffed and easy to find your location, the show started far too late, people was tired and I think it affected the energy to see Van Van. I'd never heard about the first band, but Havana D'Primera was good, seemed to be the favorite among the youngest in the place. Van Van was good, as always, their sound was better than Havana's. Sorry they did not play my favorite hits....
Loved it, great music, fun dancing to my favorite Cuban band. Bring them back again!
Since we can't go to Cuba, they brought Cuba to US!!! Long LIVE LOS Van Van! Their energetic sound is powerful and infectious. This is true salsa at it's best!! I can't wait for them to come again!! They turned it out!!! They are true musical salseros indeed!!
Very poor sound, the band was completely out of control and the singers too. Left after one hour. Better watch on YouTube.
The concert time was 730pm and it didn't start til 830ish pm. There were so many opening acts of upcoming artists with at least 3 songs each. The promoters all know that mostly everyone if not everyone went to mainly see Los Van Van. Once on stage around 11:50 pm the first thing they announced was that they would not have enough time to sing all the songs they planned on because the event was to end at 12 midnight. They sang 3 songs and the last song they barely finished as all the lights were turned on. This concert was either poorly planned or strategically planned to sell tickets, make money as the sole purpose, and not deliver. I am very very disappointed and will not attend ever again an event announced with these promoters. This is not good business and very deceiving to the consumer.
