    Worth the price!

by turkeyXD on 11/16/16Royce Hall - UCLA - Los Angeles

The concert was as classic as expected. Really great performance and very charming conductor. We sat at the side balcony, but the view was surprisingly good (it was super close to the stage).

    LACO was fabulous!

by Deborhaha on 6/9/16Orpheum Theatre - Los Angeles

Wonderful seeing these animations with live music. The conductor really captured each moment and brought the most out of the musicians. It was a really fun evening. I look forward to seeing more of the shorts - there are 75. I also enjoyed learning about the history of the shorts. We all had a great time.

LACO & Classic Disney was amazing!!

by Nicolejames on 6/8/16Orpheum Theatre - Los Angeles

I was truly blown away by the entire performance! LACO was one of the best orchestras ever. Their music -- combined with classic Disney movies -- was truly a heart touching experience!

The best way to experience the Silly Symphonies!

by FredoT on 6/8/16Orpheum Theatre - Los Angeles

The Orpheum Theatre is a small venue, so there really are no bad seats. The acoustics are great and worked beautifully with the Orchestra. It was truly moving to see these classic cartoons on the big screen, with an orchestra providing the wonderful score. Many, many years after I first saw it, "The Ugly Duckling" still brings a tear to my eye. Experience "LACO at the Movies" if you get the chance. You won't regret it.

LACO at the Movies was amazing!!

by hilahmonster on 6/7/16Orpheum Theatre - Los Angeles

We SO enjoyed going to see LACO at the movies. We saw the Disney Silly Simphonies, and it was so much fun, and really cool to watch the music live and the musicians create all of the different noises! It really emphasized how important music is, and how much goes into making the music for movies. The musicians were amazing, their timing UNBELIEVABLE, and they were able to make ducks talk and skeletons shake and frogs croak in amazing ways. I WILL BE BACK -- I think this will be a yearly tradition for us. Moved me to tears!

    Incredible performance!!

by fishyphil on 6/7/16Orpheum Theatre - Los Angeles

We went to this show last year and thoroughly enjoyed it! So when it came back this year we had to see it. There was no dissapointment!! The Disney Company cleaned the old cartoons magnificently, and the orchestra's performance of all of the sounds and music was superb!! A must see performance, and bring the kide too!

    An Uneven Program

by Mitzymoon on 2/24/16Royce Hall - UCLA - Los Angeles

My nitpicking has nothing to do with excellence; the LACO plays with remarkable vigor and perfection that is more than worth the price of admission. But this was strange programming, to wit, Faure and Ravel just don't mesh well with Schoenberg and Beethoven. Arguably, Ravel's Mother Goose Suite was the drawing card and was rendered masterfully, but to follow it with Beethoven's forgettable 8th Symphony was deflating. Schoenberg is always challenging, but jarring when juxtaposed to Faure's and Ravel's lyricism.

Wonderful guest conductor and generally an excellent concert. My favorite was the Schubert symphony. Lovely.
