About

Lloyd Banks has been a member of G-Unit since 1999, after friends 50 Cent and Tony Yayo hit the mainstream. Banks has worked on a couple of G-Unit compilations, "Beg For Mercy" and "T.O.S." and has released three solo albums. Tickets to see G-Unit are a top draw, as the group performs together infrequently. Yet, due to their popularity, every concert they announce usually sells out quickly. Lloyd Banks also performs as a solo artist, but no upcoming tour has been announced. After leaving Interscope Records in 2009, Banks landed a record deal with EMI and released "H.F.M. 2 (Hunger For More 2)" in 2010. No official plans have been announced for a new studio album, although rumor has it G-Unit is working on a new project. "Hunger For More 2" provides the single "Start It Up" and is loaded with guest appearances from the likes of Eminem, Kanye West, Juelz Santana, 50 Cent, Styles P, Raekwon and Tony Yayo. Prior to "H.F.M. 2," Banks also released "Rotten Apple" (2006) and "The Hunger For More" (2004).

Raised in South Jamaica, Queens, Lloyd Banks met 50 Cent and Tony Yayo at a young age, and the three used rap as an outlet to get out of the streets. However, while Banks continued to be a popular act in Queens, 50 Cent and Yayo gained national recognition. 50 Cent brought Banks to G-Unit and helped him produce "The Hunger For More," which features the breakout single "On Fire." G-Unit continues to be one of the most popular rap groups of the 21st century, leading Lloyd Banks to hunger for more.

Banks was on point, but overall a disappointing outing

by AdamW on 6/13/23Sony Hall - New York

Concert was dope, and Banks put on an amazing show, and it was also my first time in VIP at Sony Hall. Unfortunately, there were several things that made the experience less than enjoyable. 1) the wait service was subpar, and the waitress I had seemed completely out of her element and overwhelmed. 2) Also, the opening acts came on close to 4 hours after the doors opened; FOUR HOURS! Thankfully, I was sitting, but as someone who is in GA a lot, this has to stop. Have the doors open later, or schedule the times better. 3) Lastly, because of the later time, I missed the last train home on the Babylon line and had to get home via train, Uber and car, which was very tedious and upsetting. I love this venue, it’s arguably one of my favorites in the city, but due to the factors mentioned above, I had to rate the experience the way I did.

    Lloyd Banks - Sony Hall

by NYHiphopHead on 6/13/23Sony Hall - New York

Lloyd Banks showed at midnight when the event was set for 9. But he was fire! Worth the wait and more. Never been to Sony hall until now and I loved the venue. We got there an hour before doors opened to get floor spots right in front of the stage

After waiting 3 hours they finally brought out their openers then lloyd banks comes out and doesn’t perform the hits. Performs his new mixtape that no one knows the lyrics to and gets mad everyone is tired. Performance was short and technical issues with the mic banks needs a better setlist put together

Having followed Lloyd my whole life, having met him at Sony Hall, and feeling the energy of the crowd and the love that his fans have for him - I can confidently say Banks exeeded all expectations, as he always does 🔥💯 Don't get too used to fire, because when Lloyd hits the mic, everything and everyone is ablaze!! 🔥
