First time going to a Live From Here show and it was fabulous! Chris Thile is a charming host and both his talents and those of the entire performing group were on full display. It felt like being in a really big living room, with an incredibly talented family. Highly recommend!
There aren't many venues where you have the chance to hear world class musicians play Bach to bluegrass with such a tightly knit understory. This week's theme was the mirrors of New York and every excellent performance and story wove it together. We loves Chris, his fellow players and all his guests. We'd seen the superb singer-songwriter Nathaniel Rateliff before, and this arrangement was stunning. The string accompaniment and backup vocals were perfect. The surprise of the night was Haley Heynderickx. We'd never heard of her and found her performance to be beautiful and otherworldly. The horns were an incredible addition to her unusual sound. Great time, great music. We look forward to the next session.

Live from Here is a fantastic show. Chris Thile is a fantastic host and is clearly so passionate about music, and about life, and it's contagious. The variety in the music was so wonderfully entertaining, from the core group to the invited acts, to the spoken word parts - poetry, commentary, and humor. It's cool to be part of this live radio broadcast and to watch how it all works, and we loved getting the "extras" by being there that the listening audience doesn't get. BRAVO!
True to the show of yore, Chris and company kept the music both fresh and more importantly to me, eclectic. Chris has a great ear for talent, no matter the genre. Feb 15 show featured an alt band ("Real Estate"), a string quartet ("The Danish Quartet") and the Indigo Girls, who played new and old tunes. Plus the house band was just phenomenal with an excellent singer, Amanda Brown. She covered Linda Ronstadt and Dolly Parton very credibly and had the house signing along. The band jammed on several tunes during breaks and even after the on-air show ended. The 2 hours just flew by. For the money, you can't beat Live From Here for value.
Exceeded all expectations; Chris's enthusiasm for the music and the performers was clear. As avid listeners of the Live from Here broadcasts on WFUV, we were delighted to experience the show in person and plan to do so again very soon. Nothing but positivity about the performances and the venue.
Was a blast seeing Live From Here when we were in NYC for the weekend. Have been listening to the show since Chris took over from Garrison, and have loved seeing how he has made it his show, more of a musical entertainment program instead of skits with music sprinkled in. You can tell he totally in control and enjoying every ounce of the program as well. Looking forward to seeing what comes next when he comes to our town Live from Here. Cheers

A good line-up, good performances, and a very well thought out and executed game plan.
The show was really spectacular. The music, the energy, the community, all came together to present the most magical experience.
