LINDI ORTEGA IN CONCERT:
Canadian country-blues songstress Lindi Ortega has been wowing audiences with her sassy lyrics, retro style, and rip-roarin’ live shows since 2001. Taking the stage in her signature red cowgirl boots, Ortega creates an enectric energy at her concerts, mixing pitch-perfect vocals with grungy guitar riffs and thumping stand-up bass. Whether she’s showcasing her sultry, soaring vocals on “Tin Star” or going back to her roots on “Hard As This”, Ortega's mesmerizes ticket buyers with her passion and vocal prowess every time she’s on tour.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Born in Toronto, Lindi Ortega got her start in music at the age of 17 when she picked up the family guitar and wrote her first song about not attending the prom. After spending several years honing her craft, she released her debut The Taste of Forbidden Fruit in 2001. After touring and further developing her songwriting she released her sophomore LP Fall From Grace in 2007. She continued to make her mark in the music industry with her next two EPs – a self-titled release and The Drifter -- that both premiered in 2008 and spawned several tours alongside major acts like Noah and the Whale and Keane. Since then she’s released three more acclaimed albums, been nominated for two Juno Awards, and made several appearances on late night talk shows. With her alluring stage presence and solid collection of country-blues tunes, Ortega gives fans an unforgettable experience on her must-see tours.

The lead person was Emily Wallace. A great acoustic set. She appears locallt- Find her if you can. Excellent acoustics. Ms. Ortega just appeared on the Grand Olde Opry and now the Duck Room. Her songs are wonderful. Her backup was tight. The small room made it tough for her voice to shine through. On the other hand, we sat 10 feet from her. I'll take the closeness over sound in this case. A great show. She did wear her litle red boots.
My wife and I loved the show. Lindi Ortega is an amazing singer, performer and songwriter. We were also very impressed with her super musical guitar player.
I loved seeing Lindi perform at the NAC Fourth Stage which is a perfect intimate venue, just the right size to allow you to sit only a few feet away from the artist ! Everything about the show was great ! My personal pet peeve when going to concerts is the warm-up act ! I go to the concert excited to see the person I have paid to hear, get settled in my seat feeling happy anticipation, and then out comes a very average performer I've never heard of before, to bore me to tears. The warm up act is much too long and saps the energy of the audience and takes away all the fun and excitement of coming to the live concert. Linda's warm up, Sam Cash, is a an example of this .... He sang far too many songs very poorly and really diminished the whole experience for me. After that Lindi was great but I would have enjoyed it so much more without the warm up act !
High energy show that didn't disappoint. Lindi is a sparkling, amazing performer and a throwback to better days of country music. No Bro-country here, just the real deal, heartfelt honest songwriting and a performance that leaves it all on the stage. You can't miss with a Lindi Ortega show. Oh yeah, and she's as cute as the day is long!!!
I was blown away by her; love all her albums & this was my first time seeing her live. She was pitch perfect, full of charisma, & great presence. The ultimate Musician!! Five Stars!!!!!
Great venue to see Lindi. Up close and personal. Even got to meet her after. Nothing better!! Thanks Lindi. Looking forward to seeing you in Boston as well when you come back.
Its hard to believe a performer as absolutely fabulous as Lindi Ortega can be enjoyed in a venue the size of the Mercury Lounge for under $20. Go ahead, check a few of her videos out on You Tube...you will then join the rest of us and be addicted! Immediately thereafter, find out where Lindi is playing, the run (dont walk) to check her out. Venues as small as this cant contain the force that is Lindi Ortega for long. I promise, regardless of your genre affliation, you will a happy camper!
Stripped down country music featuring her, a guitarist and a drummer. Featuring heavily from her newest release Tin Star. Her strong and unique voice comes accross even better in a live atmosphere.
It's always a treat to see a performer you love in such a small venue. This was no exception. Lindi as always put on an amazing show! And as always she took time after the show to meet with the fans, sign autographs and take pictures. This was my first time seeing a show at Wonder Bar and I must say it will NOT be my last. It had great sound and an all around friendly atmosphere.
