BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Hailing from Indianapolis, Indiana, sisters Lily and Madeleine Jurkiewicz began singing together in high school, performing and uploading cover songs to YouTube. Their videos caught the attention of local producer Paul Mahern, who invited them to his studio to record their debut EP The Weight of the Globe. After a video of the pair singing in the studio went viral on social news site Reddit, the EP was picked up and released by Sufjan Stevens' Asthmatic Kitty Records. The release was an indie sensation, earning praise from critics including the New York Times, who called its perfectly blended harmonies "extraordinary." With their career on the rise, the sisters played their very first shows to sold-out crowds in Indianapolis in 2013. Lily & Madeleine continued to impress in 2014 with their debut full-length Fumes, which they supported with a string of acclaimed performances on tour.
