Decidedly Forgettable
by fridaymekki on 4/3/12Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New YorkThis evening was billed as a flashback to Studio 54, and it definitely was not. The live acts were okay at best, and there was way too much talking and filler throughout the night, from the deejays, Danny Terrio, and the performers themselves. It was obvious at times they were just trying to kill time on stage, which was absurd given that every single person in the audience was there to dance. There is no reason they couldn't have just popped on a recording of some good 70's disco -- believe me, if they had started up with some cuts from Saturday Night Fever, the place would have gone nuts. I had high hopes for this event and was sorely disappointed.
