    Yikes

by MelP on 2/1/24John, James and Clara Knight Stage - Akron

Expected the this performance to be at a more professional level than it was. It was amateur enough that we thought a Miller South production of this musical would've been more enjoyable.

    Musical, yes! Venue, no…

by cls136 on 1/24/24John, James and Clara Knight Stage - Akron

The musical itself was cute, fun, and entertaining. Although it was not very kid friendly, my family and I still enjoyed the music and humor. The venue was a nightmare. I was not expecting the show to be on a tiny side stage, to be packed into folding chair seats like sardines, and the extremely poor choices in ill-fitting costumes. I would recommend the musical itself but only to adults and definitely not at this venue with this cast.

    Cramped Space, OUTSTANDING show!

by CarrieR on 1/24/24John, James and Clara Knight Stage - Akron

I was a little disappointed in the space that was used for Legally Blond. Initially my daughters and I didn't even have a seat! The space was cramped and visibility was hard due to the bright sunlight streaming in the back windows. HOWEVER, once the show began, none of that mattered! The cast was amazing, the singing and dancing fabulous, and the delivery of one liners SPECTACTULAR. I had never seen the musical before and was pleasantly surprised with the music, songs and dancing. Elle Woods (Meghan Wilson), was fantastic, as were the rest of the cast! Great job!

    Legally Blonde

by Cam on 1/15/24John, James and Clara Knight Stage - Akron

The show was a flop. Left after the first act. The singing and dancing were completely off. I’ve seen high schoolers put on better performances. Seating was too tight where you couldn’t move. This was the worst musical I have ever been to. Also not appropriate for kids.

    Not Good

    by I. N. on 3/29/23Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

I have never left a show at intermission so this was a first for me. The main character's voice was so nasally it seemed she was doing it on purpose. The funny parts were not funny although others did laugh while I cringed and I have to say that others also seemed to enjoy themselves ... along with their cocktails. Maybe I should have imbibed? My daughter and I decided that the rest of our afternoon should be spent more productively doing something, anything else. Maybe I love the movie too much and my expectations were too high. In any event, I am sorry not sorry we left early.

The good and the not so good.

    by #notanexpertbyanymeans on 3/29/23Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

It was a pleasant experience and good to be back in the theatre. I’m biased as this is my first off broadway play. I’ve only been to plays still on broadway and only in New York City so I did feel there was a tangible difference in a few respects. The set, the venue, some of the acting and signing left a little bit more to be desired as well. Some were better than others though. I’m not experienced in what drama and theatre are like as a business though and these plays may be how people start in the business and are still quite new. I am not sure. If that is the case they did pretty well and I wish them best moving forward. I will say that the energy, passion, and gratitude that the actors have for what they do and the opportunity they have to do it what was quite tangible.

    Too pitchy

by Marissacpht on 3/29/23Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

It takes guts to sing in front on anyone especially crowds so kudos there. I did feel like the overall show was pitchy and disappointing. A lot of people including myself left at intermission

    So-so

I was a little disappointed in the Legally Blonde musical. I mean, it was just okay. I wouldn't go to see it again.
