    Rockin NYE with Larry G(ee)

by AliFuller on 1/3/14Southside Music Hall - Dallas

The show was incredible....I haven't been out in 5 months since having my son and was definitely the best way to spend my first night out and my NYE. This was my husbands first time seeing a whole Larry show and he loved his energy and stage presents. I've been huge fan of Larry's since the Odis days a few years back and think he is an incredible artist and will always support his music.

    Larry always Delivers!

by Marissasdancepartner on 1/3/14Southside Music Hall - Dallas

Larry g(EE)'s NYE was easily the best NYE events in Dallas I've been to. The bands and music were all top notch and the crowd was a lot of fun. The venue itself could've done a better job preparing for the event, but it didn't get in the way of everyone having an amazing time.

Larry g(EE) was the ONLY positive of the evening

by Anonymous on 1/3/14Southside Music Hall - Dallas

Positives: Larry g(EE) was the star of the evening. I would definitely go see him again. The venue was adequate. They could have used more staff behind the bar. As the evening went on and more people showed up, the lines were 10-15 min long for a drink. Good bathrooms and a covered smoking area just outside the rear double doors. Negatives: The first band, "Party Police" (I think) were a completely different genre (hip hop) and I don't think they were good (this is as kind as I can put it). If I had known, I would have come late. The other band, "Rich Girls" were disappointing. They seemed more focused on comedy than music. It felt like a Weird Al Yankovic style tribute to Hall and Oates. I was hoping for a genuine cover band. It is fine to have fun and be over the top with a genre of music that is KNOWN for being over the top, but that is not what this was. I would rather not see them again. Summing up the night at the end... when Larry g(EE) tried to get the NYE countdown on the screens behind the stage, there was a malfunction. He simply started yelling the numbers, which was perfectly fine. Rather appropriate that Larry g(EE) saved the evening...

This was an amazing show. Larry was high energy, came out to do the countdown just in time, so much fun. Great covers. Great originals. Larry has a great voice and energy, and I loved the soulful feeling and sound of the guy who came out and sang on James Brown cover. The whole mix of bands and everything was great. Whoever produced this show did a really nice job.
