    Not good!

by Tiffanie69 on 10/13/12Beyond the fork Harrahs - Tahoe

I went to beyond the fork last year and it was great, just one problem though No place to sit while you eat so left earlier then wanted to. This year it was not good! Only thing good was they actually had siting for the 1:00pm people but my tickets I payed in advanced for we're for 2:00pm so I pretty much had to stand because the 1:00pm people had them. This time there was more wine then food, this was not a good thing for me since I don't drink. First food I tried was a flat noodle pasta w/ marinara sauce and the chef said oh! You might not like this and after tasting it he was right it was way under cooked pasta with a crunch and bland at that! I had the large shrimp on the rim of a skinny fluted plastic glass with the dipping at the bottom that no one could reach to dip the shrimp and watched my shrimp and other peoples shrimp fall to the floor because this shrimp was too heavy on top of this filmsy fluted glass. Then went to try the teriyaki chicken it probably tasted good but the tiny fork was ridicous! Just jabbed at the chicken, ate that piece and had to throw away the the rice and vegetables. They might have just as we'll served chicken with a toothpick! Same goes for the generous portion of jambalya fork were way too tiny! I don't like veal but my husband and son said try the veal squares, i did and they were soo fantastic I ate four of them food item there! Last year they had the most beautiful setup of chocolates only problem with that was you had to ask the chef if you could have one, chef hardly said a word and acted like you were going to ruin his beautiful display so people were afraid to grab more they one or two candies and had to ask if they could have a oiece of candy. this is probably why this year they had only 4 or 5 different kinds compared to last year. Last year they probably had too much candy left over because the server was unfriendly and no one wanted to upset him by touching his display. This year they actually were friendly and encouraged you to help yourself to candy and cakes. I think next year I will be finding something else to do and not waste my money. Oh! And by the way I did find a sit just before I left and talked with several people and their comments were the same as mine regarding the poor presentation of food, forks, and way too much wines to take the place of food. Ps. I make dynamite pasta dish that people will remember, it's delicious. Maybe the chef should tasted his it before serving it to a crowd!
