This Music Fest was a Nite to Remember!

    by Chocotwixie41 on 6/11/13Lafayette Cajundome - Lafayette

I really enjoyed myself and I thought that the zydeco mixed with R&B was a great idea its nice to mix a little two step with a smooth r&b groove. It was nice to sit back and listen to the music that remind me what real music was like back in my younger days listening to After 7 and New Edition (Heads of State). Of coarse Tank and Dru Hill were awesome and put on a show as well. I didnt get the see the ladies perform I had to leave. But It was worth it to see it all and I wouldnt change a thang! Lil Nate was super! He did a great job!

    Lafayette Music Festival?

by Ladybluejeans on 6/10/13Lafayette Cajundome - Lafayette

It was an event but not extraordinary as initially anticipated. I have been to many other music concerts and had a better time. The Cajundome was not packed; many seats were empty. Some of the artists were too loud and you couldn't enjoy the music.

    A-MA-ZING!!!!

by YoungOldSchoolFan on 6/10/13Lafayette Cajundome - Lafayette

Besides the seats, which were in a great position but were too small...seriously, a larger guy sat on side of me, and, no offense to the guy, but it was so uncomfortable, I could not move on that side, and I left with an ache in my back and a numb leg. Anyway, this was such an amazing musical experience for me. I went specifically for Dru Hill and Tank, but they all brought so much more to the table than I was expecting. I was born in '93, so Dru Hill and Tank are the ones that I am more familiar with, but this concert made me a fan of all of the artists. The Zydeco Band that opened up the show was very good. I'm not that into Zydeco music, but they had me dancing. And people were showing up so late, and the dome barely had people in it when they began to play, and they still performed as if they were performing for a stadium full of people. I really respect them for that. They really got people hyped up and ready for the rest of the show. They were very entertaining, and I probably would even pay to see them again. Dru Hill was next, and THEY. WERE. JUST. GREAT! This was my first time seeing them in concert, and they were just so perfect. Sisqo was so hyped, and they haven't lost their touches at all. I was so excited to see them, and they did not disappoint. People loved them. I get excited just thinking about them, they were that good. They performed old hits and even a new song from their new album. The only cons about them were they gave out a number to get their new album free, and luckily I went with someone else because I never got a reply to my text for a link, but even though the person I went with got a link, the link didn't work -_- Also, they announced that they would be taking pictures in the lobby after they performed, and a lot of people ran out to the lobby afterwards, but Dru Hill was never out...at least, I didn't hear of them ever coming out. In fact, when After & came onstage next, Dru Hill was by the stage watching them. After 7 was next. I only know some of After 7's songs, but they were really good. They dressed really classy in suits, and their performance was just so on-point. I really enjoyed their performance. You can tell that they are getting up in age, but that didn't stop them from jumping off and onto the stage and walking around the dome. They performed a Five Heartbeats hit, too, it was great. They even handed out roses to some of the women. It was so good. They made a fan out of me. I say this because I wasn't even born when they were out. Tank performed next. I must admit that if it wasn't for his voice, I would not have liked any of his first songs. I might be losing my touch with modern music, but some of his newer songs were vulgar with more curse words than was necessary. But then he even got on the piano and started playing and singing his R&B music that I love. He got everyone with "Please Don't Go" and "Maybe I Deserve." Then he even started showing the ladies how they should be treated, how they don't have to work if they were with him, and how the man should be taking care of them. He called out women and asked them how much they paid to have certain things done for them to get ready for the show (hair, toes, hands, *ahem*waxing*ahem*down there*ahem*) and then he called them to the stage and gave them money to reimburse them for that! I wish I had had something done on myself for that night! He and his background singer took some time to sing other old school hits, such as the Temptations and other hits, such as Charlie Wilson. Also, Tank's background singer--that boy has got some talent, and he's just such a great singer. I can't get over how great a singer he is. To be able to carry a singer such as Tank from the background, and even to be able to carry your own with your own voice takes some mad talent. I have great respect for him, and I think he should have his own album and concerts if he doesn't already. Heads of State--LOL! They were so good! They really were so hyped up! Especially Bobby lol! He was all over the place lol This isn't the first time I've seen them live, and I still love to see them ^ ^ They played so many hits. Bobby was the highlight, oh my goodness, he was so fun to watch lol It was almost midnight, and people were still hyped. They really went out with such a bang. It was great. They interacted greatly with the audience. At one point, I was like, oh my goodness, they won't leave the stage, but by the end of the show, I didn't want them to leave. They gave us such a warm and nice exiting message. I would love to see them again. Overall, the whole show was so great. I'm still bragging about it. I would love to attend it again.

Never Again!!! Bobby Brown needs new career!

by Anonymous on 6/10/13Lafayette Cajundome - Lafayette

All of the groups that they said were going to be there was not and Bobby Brown was high as a kite. I would never go again to see heads of state. After Seven needed new dance moves. All of the groups pretty much lost what they once had which is why their careers are over. Dru Hill did their thing, but Tank should have closed the show because he was the best.

I absolutely loved the show. Everyone was there for Heads of State but Dru Hill gave the best performance of everyone there.

I thought the concert could have beeen a hit. The choice for seating was a bit confusing. Seats were avaialbe in sections that when purchasing was not a given choice, as if the seating had been filled, lots of empty seats in sections that should have been made available. The sound was horrible. If you did not know the beat of the song, there was no way you could have been able to understand a word that was said, too much bass or acoustic going on. need to improve drastically before my wife and i attend another concert. Could have really been a great night. We made it a great night anyway, nothing attributed to the concert.
