For my first Emo show, I didn't know what to expect, but overall I had a good time. The opening act was rather slow and basic. I might be impressed if it were a high school talent show, but not opening for a popular band. The second act picked it up a bit, and La Dispute brought enough energy to work up a sweat. The venue was mediocre, with three bars, but no seats or tiered viewing areas unless you want to pay $50+ extra... I never want to sit during a punk rock or metal or hardcore show, but it would have been nice to sit down and relax during the opening acts. The crowd bounced around for La Dispute, but never heard of a circle pit. But the excessive amount of security looked eager to kick someone out if they dared to dance... The crowd was diverse with lots of girls singing along passionately with the emotion conveyed by La Dispute's lyrics. The more lyrics you knew to sing along with, the more fun the show would have been.
