    Fabulous kirtan!

by mrshesse on 6/19/12Sixth & I Historic Synagogue - Washington

Transcendental, transformative kirtan by Krishna Das. At one point, I opened my eyes and realized that I wasn't by myself! Please come back as often as possible!!

    Bliss, and then some...

by knitpurl on 6/18/12Sixth & I Historic Synagogue - Washington

A reverent and inviting venue, an open and loving crowd, and KD's holy chainsaw of a voice cutting through all the junk we had clogging our minds and hearts. With the added bonus of the speakers, this was a perfect night. Even the parking ticket I had waiting for me after the show didn't kill my buzz.

    awesome as always!

by Anonymous on 7/16/11Sixth and I Historic Synagogue - Washington

Having seen Krishna Das on several other occasions I am always looking forward to yet another experience with him. He never disappoints and is memorable in all the ways he is present to the audience. I loved the teachings interwoven with the kirtan and Sharon Salzberg is another gifted teacher of the highest order. To have these 2 together was a real treat.

    Not enough chanting

by FengShuiEyes on 7/14/11Sixth and I Historic Synagogue - Washington

Krishna Das and Sharon Salzberg are both amazing. What was less than excellent was they talked too much. There was more of them talking about their experiences in India and history than there was chanting and/or mediation. The chanting and meditation we did was wonderful, but I walked away somewhat disappointed.

Beautiful chanting, talk and crowd! KD's voice is a force of nature. Sharon & KD created a loving, energetic atmosphere.

    KD was great, thoug overpriced

by medibean on 7/12/11Sixth and I Historic Synagogue - Washington

KDas is amazing and the chanting was certainly riveting and energizing and beautiful. However, it's clear that KD and Sharon Salzberger have decided to make a schtick and tour the country and charge a lot of money for an entirely unstructured event....filled with the same old stories they have been telling for a while in other venues. For $35, I expected to get some teaching, some meditative guidance....instead it was like showing up in their living room where they were just gabbing and clearly were adlibbing the entire event

Krishna das, awesome as always, a voice like warm honey in the night.... together with Sharon Salzberg, a little too much time spent talking, less chanting, would have loved more chanting.......

Overall it was a good show. I was expecting more music thought. About half of the show was talking & meditation.
